Hi Gav, you really should change the CCO1s springs to the hop up white barrel springs, the defenders body doesn’t look quite right bobbing around on the body posts going over even the tiniest of bumps. The defender definitely looks way better than the cc02 merc, I’m not convinced about the red colour though.

It looks to me like the CC-02 had the better softer tires. The CC-01 had the bad hard Tamiya tires. Am I right about this? Does that make a difference? Thoughts?

the stock cc02 tires are rock hard as well. he fitted the optional tamiya "rock block" tires, they are much softer and perform better.

why does the cc-02 manual not want you to glue the tires on the rims?

Not sure I agree with you on the CC01 not being good on the rocks as that is were mine spends 80% of its time and it hangs really well with the Traxxas crowd.. all i have done is lock the diffs and added a gear reduction unit and mud slingers.. another great vid thanks for posting

Go for the proper trails. CC-01 is very capable for trailing and is very popular even when the CC-02 is around.

RC Sparks has a video up where he went through the software for that sound unit, I set up the GT Power container truck sound and light system in a 1/14 Tamiya Actros and that was a pain :)

Never understood why people drive an electric car but want to have the sound of almost real engines. The sound is everytime just horrible and has nothing todo with the real one. Not to speak of that it is disturbing when you are offroad in a forest or so. There is already enough disturbance for the animals there.

I guess electric is cleaner and more convenient, less mess from fluids. The option to set the sound level for different locations and the choice of engine sounds.

Super love the paint finish on the CC-01. 🤙🏼 Me too not sold on those sound boxes. Annoys me quite a bit...especially when they don’t tune the setting and it keeps ‘stalling’ on the trail.

Drone camera is crap so I’m swapping it out for the next time. I can fit a GoPro on it, that should make it much better.

Not a fan of the sound unit. Just sounds like a generator running in the background. There’s no simulation of engine load, gear change etc
