I had the same issue with the window surrounds lifting. Eventually I think I’ll paint them on the outside. As it’s my most driven buggy the body is pretty well used now anyway so if it looks a bit rough it doesn’t really matter. I also lost a screw from the underside that holds one of the rear wishbones on so I ended up thread locking them. Definitely my favourite car.

I have a Amazon basic large white box £120. I would like a bigger one but these get expensive once you go over the normal product white box size so I have to edit out the edges on some full car shots. I film the shots with my iPhone, edit the white balance up 32 counts and then smooth out the footage in the editing software by 30%. I also speed up the footage by 30% to make it flow better. I wish I could get a smooth camera mount as that would help me make super smooth pans. One day when I have some free $$$ I'll get some more studio kit but first on the list is a new DSLR video camera. Current priority is to put all the RCKicks budget into RC car kit to make video content.

This car looks like it builds just the the Kyosho Scorpion. I had the original Cox/Kyosho Scorpion back in the day. I sold it to someone in the UK years ago. I do have the re-release Scorpion and I love it. I did buy all of the of the special parts from Kyosho. I really hate the bottom loading dampers. I got top loading dampers and also LEDs too for my Kyosho Scorpion. I am now building a re-release Kyosho Ultima kit. I am having the very same problem. The bottom loading dampers are terrible. I have ordered top loading dampers from Kyosho. They are gold in color. Your thoughts on this?
@frankymal86404 жыл бұрын
Hi Alfred, which kyosho gold shocks are you talking about? The only other gold shocks I can find for the vintage series cars is the OTW128/9 ones that come on the Turbo Optima - but these are bottom loading too?
@alfredyost79724 жыл бұрын
@@frankymal8640 You know what, you are right. I actually have red shocks by Kyosho that are top loading for the Scorpion. I also have the exact shocks OTW128/9 too. I got them for my Kyosho Ultima. Hey Gavin, love the channel! You make me want to get some Kyosho kits they look great! I love the way you edit the vids, add in the manual & show the panning close ups of the build. But if I might make a suggestion? When you are talking to the main camera it is often hard to see the small details on the model that you are referring to (e.g. screws sticking up on chassis at 9m45s ish) & then locate them on the panning close up you add in. Thinking, if you had cameras recording close ups of your hands while you talk then you could cut to them in in the edit & we could see the bits you are referring too while you talk. I have no concept of how possible this is however. Maybe I just need a bigger tablet! Good luck with the full time move btw!

(Sorry @ 9m00s)
@RCKickschannel4 жыл бұрын
Hi Nick, I 100% agree with you and if you go back and look at my older builds I had another close up camera that I cut to for close up work. The problem is the amount of extra editing time to blend in these video cuts is massive and adds an extra 50%. To try and keep the editing time to a workable amount I came up with the flow you now see. It's more of a compromise until the day I can get extra help editing or improve my editing software and studio hardware. This 22:43 video took me about six hours to edit and that's flat out working as fast as possible. I could spend another 2-3 hours really polishing it up.

@RCKickschannel4 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, It's hard to say as I'm normally filming while building a kit but a "normal" build time for a video like this is, one day (5-6 hours) to build the chassis and fit the electronics and another day for cutting out the body, painting it, fitting the decals and painting the driver. Editing this video takes another 5-6 hours.
