RCLIONS 1.9 BEADLOCK RIMS FROM AMAZON - INSTALLED ON RC4WD MUD SLINGERS XL'S

In this video we install a set of 1.9 beadlock rims that I purchased off of Amazon.ca from RCLIONS. These rims are 4 piece, they do not have a separate inner ring like the RC4WD rims. They have 2 outer rings that hold the tire to the main rim.
I found that the assembly went very well, all screw hole threads were perfect, I had no issues with a single screw, "And there are allot of them". The only issue was the center caps would not sit flush against the rim due to the wheel shaft being about 3 threads to long. So I took my dermal tool and cut off a few threads and they fit perfect.
Overall I am very pleased with the fit on the RC4WD Mud Slingers XL. They are looking mighty fine on my SCX10 II. The big test will be out on the trail this spring were we will see how they hold onto the tires. if they survive I will be purchasing some of their other sets for sure.

I got a set of these RClions from Amazon also and put them on my 10.3 kit. They look great. Had a little trouble seating the bead but finally got them. One side kept popping out. Once I got them put together I had to file the paint off the hexes to get them to fit, that's how tight they are, but they look great and so far have been working great so I can't complain

@@radioactivescalerc while I was installing. Like 3/4 of the bead would be seated then a little bit would come out. I've ran it several times so far and they seem to be holding tight on the trail. I was using the 10.3 kit nitto trail grappler tires and that could've played a part on it also. Overall I really like the wheels they feel good and look good

For the cap fit get a wider hex to mount your tire.

I made 2mm policarbonate shims for the caps. The XL Mudslingers are a bit small .... very dissapointed. Found some bigger perfect lookalikes called Hobbysoul Mud Slingers. According to them they are 120mm tall.

I also think the XL Muds are a little small, but seem to work with these rim's, I like the shim idea I should have tried that instead of triming the threads. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I think I would just use a small hun spacer. Pull the rim away from the hub a bit.

That could be done, but that would leave a gap between the hub volt holes, taking a few threads of the stud did the job for me. Thanks for watching and commenting, your support is much appreciated

You have to.glue the inside of the tire then put the rim in and wait for 24 hours when its glue in with done

Were do you say the glue goes, and why? i have not tested these yet so what is the benefit of the glue?
