No. The cost of a municipal police force is way higher than many small towns or areas can afford, the rcmp contracts provide an affordable option for enforcement. Unless provinces begin to pay for their own police forces you won't see the rcmp go anywhere. Even if provinces did fund their own police services, there is still a massive amount of national federal policing duties as well as international duties that the rcmp is involved in.

Not at all. Rcmp is funny because they deal with the national security of canada, but also policing places so small no police organization would want to go. The RCMP serve places so small that those towns etc. can not have their own police force. It wouldn't make sense. For that reason alone the RCMP will always be around. There's many many other reason, but they will always be around.
