They are modified Tamiyia clodbuster you can upgrade that chassis and the motors to brushless and 4 wheel drive and or 4 wheel steering

Actually no, it was Larry Quick driving Ghost Ryder who was the first.

Actually he did. Cam hit the first backflip in stadium. Monster truck backflips had been hit a lot before then but where organized and not at an event.

+Joshua Jolly Max-D and Crusader tied for the freestyle win and Max did also won a third place race. The 3rd and fourth place trucks in the bracket will race each other to see who wins the third place podium spot.

Meents DID land the first backflip. It happened in Switzerland, in 2007. He hit a steep ramp, the truck rotated, landed on its roof on the downslope, and proceeded to roll back onto all four wheels.

Clod Busters really? they seem to be highly modified and far away from the 1987 Clod Buster I know

They're technically called Mod-Clods. But, they mainly use parts from Tamiya Clod Busters
