How about a windfall tax on private agencies and commercial providers, including the Priory Group, who’ve made a fortune from the Toff Parade’s negligent mismanagement?

I agree they should be paid more ,however I’m a carer in a care home .I find nurses look down on us when residents are at hospital for a day appointment. We get no pay rises apart from minimum wage ,no pensions ,no sick pay . I agree you worked through covid ,you are not the only ones so did carers in homes.Who had to deal with patients hospital nurses discharged clearly with covid without a care in the world.Heroes were every where ,but it was all focused on hospital nurses, why?

You could have just stopped at your initial point. But, your second argument just sounds salty. Change my mind.

@@brohasfro Not salty but like many staff in care homes during Covid19 felt let down by the RCN, government and clinical providers. Many care home staff had limited access to sick pay and entitlements during Covid 19. Do we support our NHS peers yes, but even the smaller font on the banners would like respect from our unions and the greater nursing family.

@@shropshirelass264 at the end of the day I guess it is to your own personal choice. My wife used to be a senior carer in a private care home. But, due to no sick pay and poor pension scheme, she decided to work in the NHS instead.

@@brohasfro um so you deny care homes were not used as dumping grounds ? I witnessed my self ,you insult the elderly people who sadly died from covid in my home. How is that salty ? Have you ever worked in any care setting ? Have you witnessed people dying of covid ? calling me salty regarding that issue is a disgrace .

@@jasonparfitt5936 I'm not insulting anybody here. First of all you are the only one who is acting hostile here and salty. I said no such nonsense 😂. You all of a sudden make it sound like I insulted the elderly when I did not imply anything at all. Look, if you don't want to be butthurt, then stop being so salty. These nurses are asking for a pay rise that should have been given ages ago. But, you on the other hand had to make it all about you and your bad experience with Nurses. One, stop generalizing that all nurses look down at what you do. Two, stop putting words in my comments.

If u want top quality applicants you need a competitive worthwhile salary to attract the best. Any organisation that hasn't enough new applicants logically will suffer and even end up having to retain poor performing staff. At least a 10% increase is well justified considering we spend billions on unnecessary aircraft carriers and weapons

I don't agree with industrial action. Its a bit like that famous song by the Clash. "I thought the law, but the law won." After the covid pandemic the NHS more than deserve recognition in their salaries.

We need to know that they actually care because it doesn’t seem it - they call themselves heroes OMG heroes save people they don’t let people suffer or die
