The steel gear is to help handle the heat of the nitro. The plastic gear is much wider and just as strong, lighter, a tad quieter, keeps pinions from getting chewed, won't generate electrical noise, cheaper, and is a great failure point if the drive line is suddenly jammed.
@rcnightmare12 жыл бұрын
Gear on the motor is the pinion. First gear on the driveline is the spur, I'm assuming you mean 17t pinion and 21t spur. That's a steep ratio, your transmission/diff ratio would have to be pretty low to make up for that. You'll need to calculate your final drive to make sure you're not overloading it. This would be a great topic for our forum rcnighmareDOTcomSLASHforum !

pinions? or spurs? Custom chassis? Using quality gears? Does it have enough bracing on motor mount to prevent gear separation? Running 6s on a 2000kv motor is destructive in it's own right.
@rcnightmare12 жыл бұрын
Well make conversion for sure but tailored for a different kind of setup, mechanical brakes, optional clutch etc...we opted for the lower part count basically, but there are always pros and cons.
@rcnightmare12 жыл бұрын
No it has a 6v 5A rated internal BEC. I'm sure that rating is at a low voltage input so keep in mind BEC current capacity goes DOWN as your battery voltage goes UP. We will be tapping the balance plug or running an external BEC for our HV BL servo.

thanks a lot, quite frankly, Mugen is the top of the class, better than all those

4 bolts not too bad. You'll only loose spur gears to improper mesh. I have originals on many rigs. Thanks for the sub, very nice thing to say. Keep an eye out for the running video!

Love how you set the diff on a spool of solder! Perfect little holder! I rebuilt the diff's on my REVO yesterday (for the first time) and i was like how the hell do i set this little bugger down without dumping the fluid all over my work surface! hehe.

man, great video! I love building videos. this Mugen model seems to be quite professional, closer brands are Team Associated, Losi and maybe HPI with the Vorza, I guess, do you agree? problem is which brand to go for .. I can't afford four top class models ....

Great video, I wish there was a decent truggy already electric, seems like such a waste to have to remove all the parts, my 8t left me with a pile of parts when I did the conversion too

Hi, did you guys consider the Tekno V4 conversion kit for this project. It is the same price as the Mugen one and only lacks the plastic spur yet claims to improve handling and is well made. just wondering..

i have a question? When you were changing the diff gear from metal to plastic, could i just use the metal gear with the electric kit? I'm just asking because in my mind metal gears are better than plastic, but i'm not sure what will happen if i did. What would happen?
@tzeffer4412 жыл бұрын
Do you have to buy the nitro kit first then the conversion kit

metal is used on nitro to help with heat. The plastic gears are wider, just as strong. I don't prefer metal on metal exposed gears

Because the nylon gear absorbes the tork in a difrent way than the metal, so if you had yoused the metal gear in the electric conversen it would thosted your motor ;)

Yup, it's more like 1. Mugen / Xray 2. Durango 3. Ofna (the pro racing line of vehicles) 4. Associated / Losi 5. HB / HPI :) (this seen from a basher's point of view = Durability is even more important than handling)

Just wondering why would you not just remove the front and rear clip and the Diff and leave everything else on Chassis? Just my $.02 Otherwise a great Video

Hi, I was going to comment on your MBX6T Review on your friendofrc channel, but I couldn't comment as you have blocked me. Why have you done that? I LOVE your channel, one of the best RC channels around. Anyway I was going to say "Nice review as always! Love my Mugen MBX6 Eco... my hands down favorite car ever :) Have you tried the Xray 1/8 offroad cars? they are said to be just as good as Mugen, and their biggest competitors. Really think you should check them out. Keep up the good work!"

lol HPI is no where near Mugen, Associated, Losi, etc. Now the debate between Mugen, Losi, Associatied, Kyosho, Durango. Its personal preference, Kyosho, Mugen and Durango are at the top in terms of quality, followed by Associated and last, Losi. Not to say Losi isn't good, Its great, some drivers are fastest with a Losi. All personal preference.
