ive owned a savage xss k4.6 for 3 years now and after a hard life on dirt roads and constant thrashing it still wheelstands, ive only just decided to just re-sleeve the motor and do a few little upgrades to it other than that its the best ever investment i have ever made on an rc item.

choosing between the two slayer pro. It's based off the proven revo chassis and is of course awd i.e. all wheel brakes. Jato is an on-road straight line speed demon with rear braking only.

well we will likely have to shoot some tutorials and such before we sell it, what I can see there are still some available

Oh yeah no doubt. I've done enough of those upgrade builds in my day that I now prefer to just buy a race-spec chassis right away and have a higher baseline to start from. It's all part of the hobby though. And it usually comes full circle after awhile...

Great video. Funny how I watched the video after I bought it. LOL I think it is well worth the money. I did take the body off and put it away so it would not get damaged. I did buy the Grave Robber body. Thanks again for all the videos you do.

And yes they still sale that savage x with the Charger body . Look on Tower Hibbies or A Main hobbys they got them.

Other than the Limited Edition plate and number, is worth the price tag for the upgrades compared to buying the regular X 4.6? Placing an order so need your help.

@MoDeDBoDiEs6912 жыл бұрын
I just bought me and my son a savage x special edition breaking it in now!!!
@SUPERFORMIAN12 жыл бұрын
I've one also, awesome truck. Few corrections though; it's a Charger body which has already been mentioned, none of the parts on this Savage are exclusive to it as HPI sells them separately as upgrades, the orange aluminum parts have been around for a while and has been on the Savage X 4.6 since 2011 (excluding the XSS), the tires are the old GT1's and the fuel tank is 160cc, these chassis' are sold randomly (not in order) so there's no reason to expect you received #1000/1000.
@nerdyrcdriver12 жыл бұрын
Not sure, but the rumor started quite a while ago, then hpi actually put up a page that made it seem like they were releasing a gas 1/8 motor. I dont know much about gas or nitro motors, but I know gas would be much easier to keep running, the only downside being that you have to mix oil with it.
@Devongamer112 жыл бұрын
You said you was not getting this rc. May I ask what's the best rock crawler to get.
@jamiller8312 жыл бұрын
So should i start looking at HPI stuff? ive been a traxxas person the whole time ive been Rcing "4-5 months" just simply because its a huge name and parts are very easy to come by. Hpi stuff looks really kickass so i wanna hear from other rcers.

Brandon: If I can't buy the limited edition and I get the stock 4.6, what am I missing out on (other than the freebies) with regards to the body and mechanics and how bad would that be?
@rcmaniac-basherrc12 жыл бұрын
Thats super nice of you!!!! Would love to see one in action. All that I ever get to see is the unboxing an review. Would really like to see one letting it go. I do have a decent amount of experience with Nitros. Owned a Jato 3.3 and TMAXX 3.3 as well. Looking to get back in to Nitros and didn't want to get anything that didn't make it worth it right out of the box. I live in Singapore now and the local Hobby Store isn't what it used be like. So 4.6 Special addition or 5.9 XL stock?
@rcmaniac-basherrc12 жыл бұрын
Will the gas motor have the same or more torque and overall speed compared to the Nitro or more?
@rcmaniac-basherrc12 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delay in the my response. Would love that video of the 4.6 whenever you get the chance, would love to see if how it does off road as well as on the street. Never get to see what the torque is like to looking forward to it. Thanks Buddy!

any chance you can do more onroad cars? like hpi's or the kyosho gp nitro?
@fishnfreak1812 жыл бұрын
this truck is bulletproof. very tough and powerful i used to have one but they are not as easy to work on as a revo. the chassis design on this truck is not as beginner friendly as traxxas vehicles are. also the 3.3 is a little easier to tune. nitro star engines tend to be a little harder to tune than trx engines. both are very good trucks. if you are pretty mechanically inclined then i would just go with the savage. hope this helps!
@rcmaniac-basherrc12 жыл бұрын
I need to ask you guys. I've been trying to figure out if anything in this is different than the regular 4.6's? Other than the extra freebies. I'm talking about the mechanics, build and everything else?

I personally broke mine in with 25% How ever the size of the block should be able to handle 30% with no problem.. its a tough engine and strong... other smaller engines 30% may damage the engine.. but the 4.6 is a beast. I plan on buying 30% fuel soon. i believe 30% will truly show the power this engine is capable of
@XxbrandonxX23412 жыл бұрын
your very welcome!! and with my personal thought ,, i would get the savage 4.6 due to the fact it is lil bit smaller and thats great for wheelies ,, backflips, etc.. but iv heard the xl is the same ammount of fun, so it just depends on what you would like ! and i would be more then happy to make you a video but i did not mettion that i do not have the 4.6 special addition just the 2011 moddel but there still the same othe then the body and spur gear and a lil more stuff i think just let me no

If you want to be an expert, you can get into the kits where you have to assemble the cars and get everything you need separately. That's how I started RC, but from time to time I get an RTR. Still prefer the kits. It depends on which HPI car you purchase. I've only had two HPI cars so far. Traxxas electric cars are good, the nitros are debatable. The newer HPI nitros are a big improvement over the older ones. Get a Savage X or a Pulse 4.6 and see what you think. You might enjoy it.

But I haven't, lol. The Trophy 3.5 is the exact same car as the HB Lightning 2, so I'm getting all the parts needed, along with compatible D8 parts, to make it a better chassis than the Lightning 2 Pro-Evo. It's going to be an awesome upgrade build, especially with the killer NitroStar F3.5 Pro engine.
@dannyfrickinocean12 жыл бұрын
$675 is $200 more than the regular x and all it includes over that is a limited body and a few little hop ups. I got my X4.6 last year and would still buy that with $200 worth of extra stuff unless I was going for a shelf queen then this would be perfect.

Do you prefer to assemble your RC's or purchase them as RTR's (like the novices)? My first nitro was a TRF801Xt. Great car, but it must be assembled. My first RTR nitro car was a Kyosho Inferno GT2. The new GT2 Race Spec is much improved over the original GT2. Only it's an on-road car. The Savage is quite a good RTR nitro car, just don't get a Traxxas nitro.
