It'd be cool if someone put all this Islip Speedway NBC sports footage on a Blu-ray digitally remastered compilation.
@RCR375 жыл бұрын
I agree. But they probably think it's a small audience of people and not worth the effort.
@vladimirvolkhov67865 жыл бұрын
@@RCR37 maybe they could do a limited run or something like that, I know there'd be alot of people that would buy it, maybe not thousands upon thousands but definitely alot of people. That would be so awesome to watch all the original digitally remastered footage of Figure 8 and stock car racing at Islip, plus a couple hours of demolition derby. They can have bonus extras of interviews from people and things like that.

They should do this now with Toyoters!

Capacity crowd for this! Yes! Baseball can only do this during its World Series! Football is usually a capacity crowd, but demolition derbies? ALWAYS!

I'm at a loss for words, and a few years later we put a man on the moon. Something doesn't make sense here.

That's what they want you to believe, that they put a man on the moon.

Where exactly in islip was this?
@RCR379 жыл бұрын
The track was on Freeman Ave near route 111 and the Southern State. It was right between the Golds Gym and the cookie factory.

why are most of these old cars Chrysler products
@DDS0296 жыл бұрын
Chrysler products were uni-body construction, like pretty much all cars today. The rest were body on frame. On uni-bodies, when the car got hit, the whole carshell spread the impact. Plus they didn't have the modern metals of today, so they went with more and thicker steel, to make sure it was stong enough to hold everything. Body o n frame is just that. The supension and drive train was attached to the frame, and the body shell bolted on top of that assembly, and only fastened at about 10 or 12 spots.

@@DDS029 Only unibody from 1960. These Chryslers and Plymouths predate that.
