Excellent job as always Francis! I have the RTR Gravedigger that I bought just before the price increased by $50. I’ve been running with only 2S for months in an attempt to not break stuff. Recently tried a 3S, 50C pack in it the wheelies were amazing, even on loose gravel the front end stays in the air! I think I’m going back to the 2S to preserve the life of the truck for now. Steering has been fine for me, but I just bash in open areas with it, so repeated tight turns aren’t needed. The battery strap is a pain for sure. Should have been reversed from the factory. Now get your hands on a USA-1 and do a comparison!
@RCReviewChannel2 жыл бұрын
Great share for sure!!!!!! 2S huh? I'm going 4s on the next video. None of these trucks seems designed to flex and dissipate shock so preservation is indeed an art.

@@RCReviewChannel I know most people that run RC nowadays are all about power and speed, but to me a monster truck is about the style more so. Not all out speed or being out of control. On 2S I can still easily get it all cattywampus as Dennis Andersen would say, and it looks just as awesome without sacrificing reliability.

@@RCReviewChannel My buddy built an Axial SMT-10 and we run them together. He breaks something every time we go out. And yet, we’re running the same lines and jumps. Good video! I like my LMT roller so much that I just ordered another one. 1st one has a Monster X 2000kv running 4s. I dial throttle down to 3/4 and it is a HOOT!!! I only installed a Raw 500 servo with Treal saver. 100 or 105mm limiting straps are a must in my book. Rods pulling through pistons cost was too much to repair. It's the only thing I've broken so far! 2nd roller will have a Monster X 2650kv on 3s and a cheaper 30kg servo and Proline Raptor w/camper shell body (made for a TRX). These things are fun on any spot you've got to run on!

Nice review and dead on with the pros and cons! I ended getting a roller version! Went with a castle set up capable of 4s……heard about all the problems with axle housings breaking so I bit the bullet and got Treal housings before I busted them! Made a few other upgrades like limit straps and aluminum shock mounts! Been rock solid so far …..lots of batteries through it!

I had two shocks rip out of the plastic rod ends. Limiting straps were installed and aluminum rod ends with thread lock. Servo wasn't awful but weak and that means it's burning itself up. It didn't fair well at a skatepark but I was smiling the entire time. Parts are really expensive compared to others but it's a unique machine and Great fun!

I agree about the Servo, the RTR Spektrum S614S does seem to have some play and delay and a bit more strength and power would be an improvement. For the motor I think it's fine, even with a heap of aluminum aftermarket parts performance seems great. The ESC will take 4s but the motor won't so you could upgrade the motor for 4s. If you want greater than 4s then you will be replacing both the motor and ESC. If you need to purchase all the components for the Rolling chassis and don't have parts already then the RTR is pretty good value.

I got mine few months ago. I would say weight is one of the advantages of this vehicle as it lets you perform great stuns with great scale results. The weaknesses can be solved easily by reinforcing the axles from the inside, I got printed parts from someone else that helped fill the space in the axles, making them really tough. Also limiting straps help protect the shocks. I've run few packs and havent' break anything yet.
@RCReviewChannel2 жыл бұрын
Very good advice!!!!!! I'm about to launch this vehicle but I'm afraid to for now. Cool advice for the limiting straps. I've heard that mentioned in a few places but didn't truly understand what it was protecting. Some folks did mention the shocks broke apart inside from heavy use.

No monster truck that pushes it to the limit will go unscathed! I bought my Gravedigger as soon as it was on pre-order. I had the biggest smile on my face as I started running the first battery. I upgraded to the v2 axle housings and then upgraded to vitavon axles and links. The stock servo is junk, which we all knew, so I installed a Reefs Raw 500. I also put on limiting straps. After I installed the vitavon axles, I don't even go 2s, 3s 7600mah and I can do cookies on dry pavement. It's a monster truck, not a xmaxx type basher. If you drive it like a basher, it will get very expensive very quickly, but you'll be like a kid in a candy shop!

I've spent FAR too much money on my LMT making it bulletproof. Some of the upgrades weren't really necessary, but I got carried away. It's got pretty much everything Treal offers for the LMT, plus a battery and electronics lowering kid to lower the center of gravity, 4 wheel steer conversion for epic donuts, and GPM Carbon fiber chassis panels. The upside is the thing seems to be indestructible...running on 4s consistently and have had some awful crashes and haven't broken anything since the upgrades. It only gained a slight amount of weight and the lower CG is noticeable in the corners. It performs like a true monster truck. The downside is, it pretty much costs as much as the real thing too.

Love my lmt, it's completely mental 🤣 don't know how you're breaking all that stuff as other channels are only managing to do the axles. Get treal or vitavon axles and it makes it more stable lowering the center of gravity. Also how is the motor not powerful enough! Its doing wheelies at 40mph 🤣 on 3s 100c batteries. Just turn up the timing and punch on the esc, I've back mine off to make it more manageable. Maybe you got a slightly bad motor? But yours is a roller so you didn't have the spektrum one to begin with.

That thing is like a squirrel on crack! Breakage is something that happens to RC’s like this that are fast & meant to bash nothing you can do about it. My Windigo is awsome but I usually eventually break something not because it sucks or has major flaws but because I’m out using it having fun & it just comes with the territory. It’s usually my fault & all I can say is with RC’s that are fast ya gotta pay close attention. It’s almost taken out me a few times. I’ve said it before if your a hard core crawler fan you have to get at least one fast RC. And once you do you want more. I’m already looking to get a short track truck. Bottom line get out with your RC’s & have fun & enjoy them. After awhile you don’t worry or get mad when they break it’s just part of it.
@RCReviewChannel2 жыл бұрын
Agreed for sure. We're not upset it breaks as this is a scale solid axle truck after all that is made to be realistic as it bounces around doing stunts. We do however have Kratons, Sentons, Mojave Maxx and XMaxx that will take far more abuse than this since they flex and dissipate shock and ballistic speeds. Good to point out where it breaks though since they can be strengthened and upgraded.

Very uninformed review........ If you are driving straight into 8" curbs back flipping the truck you will brake links axles and yes servo's - I can only imagine how many attempts it took to get the on film shots....... *** SPOILER ALERT *** Plastic Breaks.......... How can you speak on the stock motor when you didn't even use it? You bought a roller?........... I especially get a kick of you dumping on the stock servo when you never even tested it. Not to mention in every other one of your reviews that's the first thing you change. ...........Do us all a favor and stick to crawlers

Points taken, appreciate the share. I love the truck, don't get me wrong. Not many attempts here, just a lot of puddles and backyard. I had a weaker motor and servo here before (same ratings as stock) and it was just ok. With a 500 oz/in torque servo in there now, it really came to life.. Crawlers are cool but this is fun! Dozens of videos out there about this vehicle and pretty much no weaknesses, just 'best car ever'. I think it's cool and there are ways to upgrade it and make it shine even more.
@tomlucasrccrawlers91082 жыл бұрын
Been watching your vids since you started..... Uhmmm.....you should stick to crawlers. The LMT V1 axles were weak. The newer V2 which have been out for quite some time are very strong. Anything will break if you don't know how to drive it or hit something hard or land badly. The stock Spektrum motor and esc are very strong(weak? Seriously?). Sure , you could put a stronger system in there...theres always a stronger motor.....but if you go to an rc monster truck or watch one on KZbin there is extremely very little differences in track-time between people running stock motors or bigger stronger aftermarket motors(maybe a second +or-). As for the servo-savor....which one did you use....an aftermarket, stock...does the roller even come with a servo-savor?
@RCReviewChannel2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for share. Yes, I have the V1 axles as I bought this a few months ago. For the motor, the stock one is not weak but it's not as torquey as this truck deserves. Track time? Yes, stocker is fast. I'm talking more about instant boost moves like a monster! Servo saver, yes mine is stock on the roller kit. The metal barrel just stripped and lost all its teeth.
