I don't think the disproportionate amount of anger that this is evoking in people is reasonable. I subscribe to RC Review because I appreciate the perspective and opinion, regardless of what the product is. If this product isn't right for you, there are thousands of other RC videos on KZbin for you to find something you like. I picked up my first couple of RC's from Banggood and it's introduced me to a new hobby that I can enjoy with my kid. People forget that these are just TOYS and this is a hobby for FUN. I know I will eventually buy a Traxxas or an Arrma RC, but not everyone wants to spend $200+ right off the bat on something they don't know if they'll even enjoy. Granted, the Chinese brands aren't always as robust as a Traxxas or Horizon Hobby products, but it's not like the big brands don't have things that break all the time as well. Yes, not having local parts availability is really annoying, but that's also reflected in the price you pay!

I ran a 5900kv and it rounded the wheel hex and crack the other wheel. Yes you can put 17mm with adapter and extensions. The wheel hex are to long and the nut doesn't secure tight, ends up falling off. The truck is very tough, I flipped it cart wheeled it and nothing broke. Tires ballooned badly. I'll be putting a post on Facebook ZD Racing Group of wheel options. From RC Cars and Music. A good tire to use are Redcat Racing Dukono tires, very good I hit 40mph on grass and street.

The word cheap is the key here. I just got an 1/8 ZD buggy, looks great. here is what I found and had to do to get it to run. I have spent entire day getting this thing into running condition. All drive shafts were a "press" fit into the drive cups at he dog bones! The wheel driveshafts were the worst. Taking the car apart I had to Use a screwdriver to pry the cups a bit to get them out. My shafts are plated in a bronze/orange colour. I was able to remove the coating by filing and simply rotating the dog bones in the cups. Some of the coating was cut when I rotated them in the cups and a very thin sleeve slid off the pins. This pressed fit was binding the suspension movement. The black transmission shaft pins were not pressed symmetrically, again I had to correct that. Next are the diffs, the front one was so tight on the pinion/ring gear, I could count each tooth as it fell into another in a detent fashion, click, click.click......, rear was also too tight. The sides of the differential housings (output coupling holes side) are not parallel, they are caved in (manufacturing/material defect). Due to this there is physical interference between the inner wall of the housing and the differential plastic hub (opposite ring gear). I had to file down the cup a little, use three shims to get some clearance here as well as get the pinion/ring gear to mash well. All screws into aluminium were just drenched in thread locker, had to use heat. Same thread locker was applied onto my front plastic C mount by carelessness eating away at the plastic and causing lots of play at the pivot ball. The motor mount is separate from the centre diff carrier, makes for a messy gear lash adjustment, and keeping the gears parallel is a pain. Looks like ESC is not programable??? Yes comes with Dumborc radio, which is great. Body came smashed as the receiver was sitting loose on top of the car, two days and no response from Banggood, they closed my order and now it looks like it is mission impossible to get into contact with them. I only got this car ($350 usd delivered, no batt) because I live in Indonesia and Arrma products are x2 or more western prices. Yes, it has lots of good looking components, the above issues however makes it a project and deffenetlyf not RTR, yes it ran out of the box but after purchase I did more digging and found vids showing all these issues. So $35 bucks of shims, a new body and a day of work I have a what should have came in the box. I am done with this Chinese shit (have 5 now), the quality is not there. With this one, going up in price and seeing nice looking components I gave them one more and last try. So if a $300 plus (no batt) ZD has these quality issues, what about the one in this review? Might be great, but do you like playing Russian roulett? I like this channel very much, but unboxing and first impressions of these clones will not tell you enough info to make an educated buy. With brand names this "light" type of review is ok, clones need to be really inspected, taken apart to see what you are getting for your money. Now just an opinion, and no one likes that. Living in the west why would anyone look at these cheap rc cars? For little more you can get Arrma for example, then you will have an rc grade car. Chinese clones are just that, clones. Hope this helps someone.

Good entry level car. Wheelbase looks a bit short for the wheel size. And the chassis looks a little thin. So if it gets people into the hobby then it's a good rig. I'm sure durability is moderate to good.

I find it a bit expensive.. Regarding the parts, this buggy shares the same parts with the rest of the ZD Racing 1/10 scale lineup. They have the same chassis size, the same arms, the same driveshafts

I bought myself a ZD racing 1/8th scale buggy a few years ago; super fun nice design but super brittle plastic and broke the A arm after a couple runs and could not find replacement parts due to it already being unavailable already. Enjoyed the car and knew it would be trash after it broke but course i had hoped it wouldn't be true; if they had parts support i would probably still be enjoying that buggy

Thanks for the review. Can you please explain what you mean by "if the Lasernut ever arrives"? Are you waiting for a free one sent to you by Horizon? I have the Lasernut from Losi and really love the performance, speed and durability - top notch quality. You can't compare this ZD model to a Losi Lasernut - no way. I would like to see this car really bashed as I don't think it would survive more than a few hard jumps.

I think the remote maybe a 4ch... the same as what I have on my Absima crawler. Perhaps the LED lights on your RC might switch off using the slide switch on the bottom of the main body of the Tx, just above the ch3 switch on the trigger handle.

I had the same problem with my FS Racing Marauder, some of the parts you can find on Aliexpress or Banggood, but a vast majority of the important parts, like the chassis, top plate, body panels and roll cage it is like they don't even exist.

4:00 I wouldn't trust that esc, it might not handle the power of bigger lipo packs or some high voltage (xt60 to deans jumper). Still, very nice rc car. Kinda, bigger FY-03 11:03 check adjustable turnbuckles on rear.?

I have to agree with most of these comments, Bangood is garbage all they do is copy stuff from the big guys. You can get Redcat for just a few bucks more. Tomley likes to push this crap too🤷‍♂️. I don’t watch him anymore. RC Review, you are one of the best out here. I respect your thoughts. But I’ll stay with what my local store/Amain & Tower sell parts for.

This is a tough one. Two years ago, their products were crappy. This month, I've seen some stuff that is really on par or better. In two years, where will they be? Parts availability is a problem for sure right now. I'm pretty sure the primary brands will set up distributors here.

That’s a good way of looking at it, maybe 2 years yes. Seems like this hobby is alway moving, hobby shops always left with old stock that they can’t move. On to the the next best thing😉. I really just got back into RC, was out for at least 10 years. Since the “shut downs” I have put together a trx4 sport & UMG10 and also purchased a couple SCX24. It has been a great experience! You have a successful channel, I’m sure you at times struggle for content. I just hope no parent sees reviews of some of this stuff, buys it and then gets disappointed when they can’t find replacement parts for their kid!

Honestly quite a few companies like redcat & team associated will take toy grades that have been out a few years, swap the body, and sell them for more. 1/16 volcano and enduro24 come to mind. Amazing how popular these cheaper trucks can get when you change the badging lol.

@@RCReviewChannel okay had a chance to watch. Yeah, no innovation there except for maybe in the supply chain and production. It’s very, very similar to the Losi Tenacity platform- same shock towers, suspension, knuckles, etc etc. Looks like a shorter wheelbase version of the Lasernut, even down to copycat body panels. I’ve had a Lasernut since release and it’s a great car with some reliability troubles, but I just love it. Glad to see more options out there, but this is nearly a knockoff.

The economy has to have a BIG impact on what we can afford to buy. It ticks me off to watch reviews for big buck vehicles that the reviewer gets for free along with a ton of upgrade parts. Yep, nice video, but nobody has the kind of money to waste on some of the stuff put on KZbin. Waiting 3 MONTHS for anything coming from China gets old in a hurry.

Car snaps drive shafts every time you drive it durability is poor. Fun for the 5 minutes it lasts. Radio needs weather proofing. Nose ⁸ on most jumps and bumper can't take it

😅 zd racing DBX 10 brushless ,It's not worth it for $300 because. Put another $100 you can buy a really good RC car, like the Traxxas Rustler.... I don't say this is not a good car. it's a nice car but that kind of money is too expensive for Chinese car... I would rather go fo r Traxxas Rustler for that money... 😊
