Correct! Yes, the Stringray Propeller does spin. Lots of reference stuff on KZbin on the Stingray, even from the original TV series. I'm already looking forward to watching Stingray in the water, that will be very special. 👍

The clear cast part does indeed spin but it wasn’t a propeller, it was an anti torque eddy damper supposedly to counteract the torque from the atomic powered hydro jet turbines.

Try heatshrink connectors for a waterprook way to connect and solder wires using a heatgun instead of a soldering iron.

I think you would only need a few degrees of pitch on those pumpjet stators to provide a significant torque correcting moment, especially as it's post swirl.

Looking forward to seeing Stingray in action.The end 'propeller' was known as the ' Eddy Damper' and did rotate. Back in the 90s when Stingray was re run on terrestrial tv, Matchbox produced a clockwork bath toy with the propellor inside tbe Eddy Damper. We still have the one i brought for my Son,albeit the clockwork motor has long seized. I have thought about an r/c conversion at some point. BTW,what will you use for propulsion? Prop or water jet?

I'm thinking either a larger prop in the damper or a pair of jets in the fuselage. Once I get into the project in earnest, I can take measurements and make solid plans..

It's one of my Drydocks units we produced years ago. It used parts of the VEX radio receivers as well as a custom board we designed. They are long out of production.

Saw your mention about the Beck Stingray model. Just to put it into perspective, the model in question, is Stingray shaped, but, its most deffinatly not a casting off a screen used model that's untrue !, it's out of proportion & inaccurate.the best models of stingray is the 4ft version by Chris dye and the 34" one by mamas pitsillis who has made a water jet powered version.i'm a authority on stingray ,merchandise etc...btw so any assistance about the craft I'd be happy to assist you on.again I can't stress how disappointing the Beck model is.....please don't use it, would you be happy using a inaccurate naughtilus kit ?...no I dont think you would so please start with a decent model base.i have a stunning 36" version of stingray which is far superior model.

Sir, the model may not be the most accurate, but for those who are not die-hard, rivet-counting, obsessive compulsive individuals, it will build into a spectacular model. I do appreciate your offer of help, but throwing the kit in the trash as it seems you are suggesting is not an option. Please stop harping on the quality of the kit and bad-mouthing Matt Beck and his offerings. A simple statement of some kit inaccuracies is fine, but leave it at that. The last thing I need is another battle with a self-proclaimed "expert" in a fictitious craft after that Seaview debacle I was forced to endure a few months ago.
