I didn't expect to see a straight axle conversion, but it sure looks good with the Bronco! It's great to see you having fun with this model after so many of us pushed you to get one. It doesn't always make it over things, but it most certainly does obstacles that I don't think it will do. A strong steering servo makes such a difference for the better with this truck. Looking forward to the next!

The look on your facr at the end of the video, says it all. Whether it's grands worth of top of the range stuff, or a cheap car you're starting out with, as long as you're smiling at the end, you're doing something right. It's a great looking truck, and the mods are great. I'm still considering a sound unit, but with the cost of living crap in the UK at the moment, spending on stuff like that will have to wait. I've now got my FTX Paso up and running, with a new body, and I have some nice alloys in my bits bin, so I'm going to get my son out, and have some fun with it. Probably axle deep in mud, as the rain has finally come back to England. Can't wait to see what's coming. Keep up the good work. 😎👍🏻

I just finished ugrading to a 2300 kv motor in my trx4 Blazer. And its funy you mention having the app. When my truck was stock, the traxas stability manager activily fought me when i drove the truck. I had to turn it off. With the new motor i turnd it on to first 45 and later 53. It is makein an enomous differece with traction rolling it when im playing around. It also tames the torque steer that causses you to lift the the left front wheel when you take off to much. It may because ive got like a 13 pound truck, but the lighter they are the less well behaved they can get.

Nice one. I suspect you're right about heavier trucks not being so affected with stability issues.

You can switch the locking order around there's videos on KZbin on it I did it with my 79 bronco
@RCTNT2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Drew. I personally prefer it the way it is because unlocking the rear is helpful on some kinds ascending rock problems where I want better steering. Of course changing to a GT5 and having full control over both is ideal! Thanks for the tip, I bet that's great to know for many who may have that preference. Cheers

Definitely a higher turn motor, & maybe go all the was down to a 9 tooth pinion. According to John Holmes (my knowledge source. Not name dropping or brow beating), to get slower speeds & higher torque density, you go up in turns on brushed, & down in kv on brushless. Then apply his "VOLT UP, GEAR DOWN" philosophy to fine tune speed & performance. So I'd suggest the 1200kv FUSION for what youve got there.
@RCTNT2 жыл бұрын
Dead right, I've followed his advice for years. One of my personal heroes. Volt up gear down for the win :)

Gdaye mate. Love the Bronco! Definitely try the fusion pro 2300 in it, I put one in an Ecto a month back. It turned it into an animal. 👍🏻
@RCTNT2 жыл бұрын
G'day, I like it. The Fusion 1200 is probably what's going in. I tried the 2300 but it's too much speed with the portals removed. Also considering a different brushed system. The gearing is really tall without those portal reductions!
@PinionHead Жыл бұрын
Maybe a 56T/87T spur paired with 12T/19T pinion will bring it down to Scx10 gear reduction ratios, less load on motor/esc more torque and low speed control, abit pocket friendly solution

oh man, where's my shotgun to deal with that engine noise lol So, you have a 27 turn motor, a 45 would turn slower with the same amount of torque? (just learning about this stuff)
@RCTNT2 жыл бұрын
That's correct. But with a higher turn motor at the same speed, I can run more voltage because it's more efficient, giving me better control and strength basically. This 27T in this application didn't have enough torque (power/speed). Being more efficient, with a different esc I could also run higher voltage through a higher turn motor and then still have the wheel speed if I wanted it, but also the torque it was lacking here. Still thinking about it. Maybe a low KV brushless system might be a good option here too. We'll see!
@kanedaadenak70882 жыл бұрын
You can't put the TRX4 Diffs in backwards can you? because if the ring gear is moved to the o9ther side of the pumpkin that will also reverse your rotation.
@RCTNT2 жыл бұрын
That would reverse rotation, yep. Doesn't solve the problem here as speed is the issue, but you're spot on with cause and effect there.

I'm curious how the fusion pro 2300 would go? I have one in my trx4 high trail. I'd love to see it lower and more scale.
@RCTNT Жыл бұрын
It'd go great. But honestly, if you're going with the straight axle conversion, you'll want to slow it down some more and the Fusion SE 1200 (with 16/17T pinion) or 1800 (with 13/15T pinion) would be perfect too.
@Mr.NiceGuy80 Жыл бұрын
@@RCTNT Ah, great advice. Definitely worth considering. I wouldn't mind brushed systems, but I just love how quiet a good brushless system can be.

Put in the under drive ring gear & pinion Problem Solved. Putting a higher turn motor will slow you down but rob you of torque. Good fun video, 🤜🤛🤙👍🤟, You can definitely see you don't have the torque you need...
@RCTNT2 жыл бұрын
Higher turn motor will rob me of power but torque will be the same, as that's a function of current (and power divided by speed technically), so the same speed with a higher turn motor means I'm able to run on lower amps, meaning lower heat, meaning I should be able to increase volts and then have better braking, better low speed and still have that high speed when I want it! Of course, going low KV brushless could be even better! I can't easily get those gears here, at least, not cheaply. Getting a 1200kv Fusion system might actually be the ticket in this case! Still thinking about it.
@teamsargentrc63992 жыл бұрын
@@RCTNT The higher turn motor does not equal more Torque. And electric motor torque is proportional to the current flow... so your high turn motor will spin slower, draw less current, and deliver less power & torque. Lesson from the Good Man John Holmes. The same thing adds to regardless of the kV. If you do not gear it down you will lose torque. Less turns means more power drive means more output. Is same with the higher kV means more power draw more output. A 45 spure gear & 9 tooth pinion could help too. Gear down power up.
@grisslebear2 жыл бұрын
@@RCTNT I know you have years more experience & accumulated knowledge than me, but... yeah. What you said. John Holmes has a few great videos explaining torque density, voltage/amperage, etc. He has an engineering degree, so when he gets hyper technical, I just try to hang on & enjoy the scenery. His base philosophy is "VOLT UP, GEAR DOWN." I have the FUSION 1800KV in my TRX-4, & I love it.

Same thing here, I think, but I still like them :) I've got the old Fusion 1800 on my trx6 and it is ample power and speed. Great system all round. For this rig I'm thinking lower KV if I go brushless. Maybe the 1200 if I can get it! We'll see.
@kanedaadenak70882 жыл бұрын
The newer fusion pros have 12 programmable peramiters instead of ten, so you can now set them up like a normal ESC with gas brake reverse, and no drag brake. The older 1280 kv turnnd off all the brakes when you turned off the drag brake lol. Overall ive been totaly happ with them.

They're quite impressive. The little 540 size AXE 1200kv system in my BC8 hauls without complaint even in 2nd gear with the big trailer and a full load (total rolling mass of just over 100lb). (kzbin.info/www/bejne/fprYh2p5bNashtE ) The Fusion 1800 in my trx6 is also amazing. But I still don't like the wheel speed here and I think 2300kv will be too much.
