Looked as if it needed coordinated rudder input with ailerons at start of flight to bring tail around. A lot of my landings with 48" wsp scratch built version looked like that, needed power on and to be flown down to touch down for wheel landings, they cheered when I landed with no flip over.

Damn sturdy on landings, I'll take it. :-)

I heard that "Geezus" yeah upon land.

Looks plenty tail heavy, flaps caused the ballooning because it was going too fast for flaps. Some throttle during approach would help the landings. Looked like a handful but you saved it.

Which engine?

P-26 and similar models are not easy to land, need to land with power on and land on mains like a P-51, let tail settle while steering with rudder. Hard to do consistently without flip-overs or wheel pant damage. Ad recommends intermediate to advanced pilots.

Move gear forward by swimming rear plate, trim wheel pants, use asphalt runway

Well I won't be having one of those... look like it was a handful on takeoff and a rock on Landing

Me neither! Landing speed much too fast for adequate control.

Obviously tail heavy, short nose needs much lead.
