How long before 3d printing is ready for the mainstream consumer electronics market. i.e.: I want to go to Best Buy and buy a wireless HP or Epson 3d printer, load a consumable cartridge, design something on SketchUp 3d press print. I don't want to assemble, fiddle, upgrade etc. All software except the design software should be drivers provided by the printer manufacturer. Any guesses?

(1) I was looking at getting a robot arm and saw that some of them can do 3D printing. How do robot arm 3D printers compare with dedicated 3D printers? (2) Is there (currently or in the works) a portable 3D Printing Format for the files that control the printers just as there is PDF for 2D printers?

Bro, Thank you so much for this video. You literally have made me so excited and happy about my future in life because I know for a fact I'm sitting on a gold mine of prints with an idea I have had for awhile. I've been secretly keeping it close to the vest and tracking google to see if anyone has jumped on it but here we are 1 year later and still nobody has figured it out. I finally got my printer, my filament, and I'm ready to start up but I have no idea how to print it. Now because of you I have the knowledge and power to do so. And because you are my Jedi master, I am going to make you this promise. That when I get to boss level status and Im laying out at Kua Bay in Hawaii while my printing business is a major success, I'm going to hit you back up somehow in hopes you respond and in that moment I'm going to ask you whatever you want in life that I can afford to get you, that I am going to get it for you no questions asked. And Marines are always faithful so I will never go back on my word. SEMPER FI brother and Thank you again.

for new people, an ender 5 plus has massive amounts of upgrades, including corexy, 3 z axis auto bed leveling, direct drive hotend for flexibles full enclosures linear rails etc, the difference is size between the normal plus and pro, i suggest the plus if you like to mod, otherwise go with an flsun sr for plug in and rock working fast for under 450 usd. cant recomend the flsun sr enough, if you have the money go the v400 but for reasonably priced the sr is awesome. just has to print flexibles super slow. hope that helps anyone looking now days

Keep in mind that the quality of printers has changed in the last year or two. One can get more features for a lower cost than was possible four years ago. There are more options than tinkercad and Fusion 360 for 3D modelling options. The preferred options will depend on someones background.

I one thousand percent recommend that a newbie get a pre-assembled printer, and if you plan to use it indoors, one with a case. I originally bought a Prusa-based ready-to-assemble kit because it was reviewed well, I wanted a large print bed but at a small price point, and I consider myself to be "handy" and electronically savvy. It took so much effort to get it to where I could even start printing real items that I gave up, and it sat in a closet for years. When I decided to get back into the hobby, I went online to see if I could get an enclosure for it and found new models with cases on sale for very reasonable prices. I realized it is entirely worth it to spend extra money to save the time and effort of tinkering with it every time I want to print. Would I like a larger one? In theory, yes, but in reality, I don't need it for the things I make.
