आर डी बर्मन एक संगीत के जादूगर थे, किशोरदा भी सुरों के जादूगर ही नहीं अपितु वो तो एक खिलाड़ी थे, सात स्वरों से अद्भुत व नायाब तरीके से खेलते हुए उन्होंने एक से बढ़कर एक गीत अपने गायिकी से इस दुनियाँ को दिया है और फिर इन दोनों के साथ मजरूह सुल्तानपुरी, गुलजार, गुलशन बावरा और जावेद साहब के बोलों का तो कोई जवाब ही नहीं है। पंचमदा का तो पूरा म्यूज़िकल ग्रुप ही पूरी दुनियाँ में एक बेमिसाल संगीत बिखेरकर गया है। वेस्टन म्यूज़िक में भी उनके एक एलबम- "Pantera" ने पूरे विश्व में धमाल मचाया था और फिर पाश्चात्य व पूर्वी संगीत के मिक्स म्यूज़िक, यानि कि फ्यूज़न म्यूजिक का प्रचलन भारत में सबसे अधिक व सफलता के साथ उन्होंने ही बॉलीवुड व पूरे दुनियाँ में अपने बेमिसाल धुनों के साथ पेश किया है, यह वो खजाना है जिसे दुनियाँ वर्षों तक कभी भी भूल नहीं पायेगी।

Sir सच्चाई यह की उन दिनों जब विदेश जाते थे म्यूजिकल इवेंट के लिए हमारे संगीतकार जो भी हमारे चर्चित संगीतकार रहे है। यह सब जब दिन में फ्री होते थे उन देशों के म्यूजिक शॉप से वहां के रिकॉर्ड खरीद के लेट थे और गीतों को वही धुन दे देते थे कि धुन मैने बना ली अब इस पर गीत लिखो गीतकार अपने हिसाब से फिल्म के लिए गीत नही लिख पाते थे। कई गीत है जो विदेशी गीतों के रीमेक है। गीतकार को सिर्फ फिल्म की थीम bta दी जाए तो वो और भी बेहतर दे सकते हैं। संगीतकार को सिर्फ नई कंपोजिंग और अरेंजमेंट पर ध्यान देना चाहिए आज सोसल मीडिया के कारण अगर आज के संगीतकार ऐसा करते है तो हम सब तुरंत जान जाते है।

पंचमदा....एक बहुतही बेहतरीन कामयाब संगीतकार तो थे ही.... साथ में एक बहुतही अच्छे इन्सान भी थे! पंचमदा जैसा संगीतकार ना कोई हुआ है और शायद ना कोई होगा! इसकी वजह यह है की उन्होंने कई नये सूर और ताल वाद्योंका निर्माण भी किया है! उनकी और एक यह खासियत थी की, रेकॉर्डींग के वक्त कोई एक इन्स्ट्रुमेंट खराब हुआ या ऑपरेट करनेवाले असिस्टंट नहीं आ पाये तो भी अव्वल दर्जेका गीत वे पूरा कर ही देते थे! ऐसे लाखो में एक महान संगीतकार को शतशः नमन!

Yes, and so wonderfully shot by Ramesh Sippy and cinematographer S M Anwar. They shot this song in fifteen days to maintain the particular time and light condition. So sad, Ramesh Sippy left those who did a great job in their respective functions (Pancham, Anwar Sahab, Javed Sahab) in his subsequent movies.

I am surprised as to why lyricist Anand Bakshi was not preferred to Javed Akhtar for "Saagar"(1985). Anand Bakshi wrote songs for Sippy films in following movies:- 1) Seeta aur Geeta (1972) 2) Sholay (1975) 3) Shaan (1980) 4) Shakti (1982) And ironically, Javed Akhtar wrote d stories of all d above movies including 'Saagar'(1985). As they say ' a winning combination is always useful ' Why a change in lyricist then ?

As i heard that Sagar Kinare song was actually old tune of SD Burman which was used by many musicians of their time and same being used by RD Burman too in this movie.

Actually Javed Saheb wanted "Sagar jaisi Aankho wali" to be in the lyrics. But that line would not fit in the tune suggested by RD. Javed Saheb didn't want that song without the line. Because it was based on that particular expression. Dimple had the eyes like the sea. So the entire song was made on Sagar jaisi aankho. RD had a particular way to note things before he created music on it. He used his native language in phonetics, So took the dictation for the song in his language, as soon as he finished writing it, he had created the tune. He was genious
