False Super Saiyan was never a real form. It was just called that by the fanbase. The story goes that the Lord Slug movie came out before Super Saiyan even appeared in the manga for the first time. The plan was to coincide SS appearing in the manga with it appearing in the movie too, but since the golden hair design was not public yet, they opted to make Goku's hair a yellowish brown. But make no mistake, it is absolutely still Super Saiyan.
