It makes sense that he probably didn't realize the depth of the beef between Drake and kendrick. And then he had to make a choice between making an apology or doing something that he didn't want to do for the sake of his fans only to end up losing a friend

@@AmazingAutist yeah, Drake and Kendrick have sneak dissed each other for years, even on each others own songs, but they kept it to the side for a fans, but once Drake mentioned the family, Cole coincidentally dropped out, so it would make sense yea

I still think those lines are misinterpreted tbh. He was making the Dad to junior(Drake) in the first lines, to continue with the parkinson bar. All the things mentioned during "nothing bout that" pointed to Drake's youth and his father leaving him behind. I understand the perception of it being about his Drake's son tho

@@gab0rikdamn i never thought about it like that, well said . it was definitely widely perceived as being aimed at drake as a father as i think that is the most obvious, immediate impression it gives, but also having it being just as justifiable with this own upbringing is an even deeper cut

When Whit says, "Tell them..." maybe he had to get it together or he would really lose her. I know she was writing about going through postpartum depression. It happened when i had my daughter; it's terrible. He had to get his ish together in order to be there for her bc when you get that, sometimes the depression never goes away and it becomes a part of their lives. He went away so they could heal as a family. I think that's why he moves like he does. Keem said all he does is work out, be in the studio and back home. He's sober and fasting from the BS and lames. Cole's not afraid of Kendrick, he was informed about the fact that he was on the wrong side because he misinterpreted a stray. It got depicted as a fold, and he definitely sold, but he ain't the one losing his gold. That's Drake fr What Cole is afraid of, is getting serious with Kendrick, because that means they would actually fully split their music connections. There's still respect between those two, it's not the same as the beef.

Cole didn't need to side with Drake. He just needed to respond because Kendrick talked about Cole and Drake. Rick Ross put diss on Drake, several others and you don't see the gang saying that Kendrick is on their side. I believe someone told Cole the situation was serious and he left. But he could have said that to his fans too, coming out like he's not okay with diss after diss is shameful. Forget that, because Kendrick humiliated Drake, but Cole's attitude in this was shameful too, because he was the one who started it all. You've been sending diss to Kendrick since the beginning of the year, which leads Drake and Kendrick to leave the diss diss and get out? Shameful.

That’s just wild, even if you agree that Kendrick would beat Cole in a rap battle. Any real rapper is going to believe they’re the best, only humbling when it’s actual logic to play. Watching they talking about Cole's apology, and how Chat's reacting crazy, I wonder how many are survived today. Also having the same opinion or not. It feels like they're either changed their mind on Cole, and everyone involved. These people actually argue how TPAB is "boring" at the time 😂

Most fans can't think for themselves and just blindly go along with the crowd/their favourite artist. If Cole came out and said FHD is the worst or if Drake said NWTS is a sleeper album, their own fans would come out and agree that the albums they love are trash. Mindless zombies

It is easier to see why Cole stepped out from where he said “they want blood” he 100% got that call from Kendrick like Im keeping it safe for now but as soon as Drake strikes a real nerve I’m going after him being a predator I’m going after him for grooming his addictions the things he’s doing wrong I already got someone in his camp and all of that Cole knew that and was like man I just did a song with him I’m not trying to be the one to step up on Drake I’ll just let you handle your thing and that’s what it was But him calling himself top dog has to be done for a long ass time

@ there’s a little bit more behind it. Drake asked kendrick to be on first person shooter and he told him no he ain’t like him (around this time Drake started releasing tracks like with Jack Harlow where he said he knew the industry was coming after him). Drake is known for double backing on features to make sure he wasn’t topped and he did that with Cole and I think Cole’s just such a musical soul and a friendly non industry person that he didn’t really know that. Kendrick probably had the conversation with him to let him know that’s exactly why he turned it down in the first place and that he’s been planning this downfall and had a lot of real time evidence on him. I mean they been beefing for 12 years, the best part is Kendrick mentioning that you (Drake) are the one who told me to remain humble and non flashy but yet your the one I watched do the exact opposite of what you told me and continuously get caught up in all of this weird shit and start gathering addictions. When J cole said “they want blood” and just knowing the type of person Kendrick is when he dropped Like That and told him to keep it friendly he KNEW Drake was going to get out of pocket as he usually does if you really look into it Kendrick has even hinted several times throughout the beef that this was going to end up in court. It’s called “preemptive framing” which directly means creating a narrative in advance me that manipulate how future events will turn out. I believe Kendrick knew from day one this would eventually become a court battle just based on Drakes problems with his label alone, and Drake thinking this was his advantage to do so. I believe Kendrick told him to keep it friendly because he wanted Drake to take that first shot so when it’s all said and done it’s “you said defamatory things first so how could I possibly be in the wrong” or even “you took it to court first so how could I be wrong when I’m specially called to show evidence on these claims” In that mindset (If I’m correct) that not only give Kendrick a sweeping victory but allows Kendrick to not be able to be called a snitch or whatever you want to say when he’s forcefully asked by a judge to show evidence of these claims. (If it goes in that direction) again giving Kendrick not only the sweeping victory but also being able to expose to the world what’s Drake has done and just still plainly be called not only #1 but the winner. Kendrick’s a genius man the ONLY smart move Drake made in this entire battle was to make sure he didn’t involve Kendrick directly in the suing so Kendrick can’t be called to show evidence of the claims. I know I sent a book but in total I truly think Kendrick has this conversation with Cole in a deep manner knowing Cole was just trying to friendly rap battle and have Cole understand just how much deeper it actually was. I truly believe that’s why he not only stepped out but publicly apologized, I also truly don’t believe Kendrick really wanted to diss Cole or bring him into it and most likely didn’t understand the perspective of what first person shooter truly was and Cole knew he wasn’t waiting on a diss bsck and he couldn’t just reveal Kendrick’s plan so he felt like there was no other way but to publicly apologize and take the diss back so this could specifically be a Drake and Kendrick matter. A lot of us look at what Cole did as a large L but I think behind the scenes Cole actually took a W by looking as bad as he did doing it solely to help Kendrick devise the whole thing… I mean Kendrick has plainly and clear as day any and every time even from “Humble” to “heart part 4” been calling Drake out and JUST WAITING on any subtle way of Drake clearly mentioning him enough to do it. The preemptive framing has been a 12 year game for Kendrick, maybe not to Drake fans but fans of hip hop and Kendrick and general KNOW first person shooter was the first technical diss and Like that was the second, Drake may not have name dropped but it was enough for the media to pick it up and call it a Kendrick diss, and Kendrick without mention let Like That do the same. With Family Matters being the first real name drop and Drake being the first to use defamatory remarks, Kendrick knew from that point on I have the soul right to do and say anything I want even if this does hit court. Like I said I know I wrote a book and maybe I’m reaching or maybe Kendrick is just that great of a chess player Truly think about it

@ I would not be surprised if most the things you just said end up being confirmed in some documentary that comes out abt ts years from now. Cole dropping out of the beef will definitely be something talked about for a long time bc there’s so many ways to frame it. But yeah when you talk about smart moves I think the most underrated is what Kendrick did on Like That. I don’t think Drake looked at Kendrick as a real threat bc he hadn’t rlly been on ppls minds at all . Even after First Person Shooter nobody was talking about Kendrick responding. But out no where with only a 1 minute feature on a Metro album everyone went nuts and put a ton of pressure on Drake. And he really didn’t even say anything wild on Like That it was just an insane verse. Edit: also Kendrick not releasing anything too recent and not being on ppls minds b4 Like That played into his Hype so much more.

@@GoChargersGo808 Preemptive planning my brother, I hate to sound like one of those people that over hype Kendrick but he’s been my favorite artist since like 2010/2011 for years it was always just Cole or Kendrick and years later Drake snuck his way in there. I was the guy for years telling people Kendrick was going to end up not just the guy at the top but honestly going to be considered the greatest artist in the world/ of all time one day and you always heard the “he’s too boring” remarks but they loved Cole and while he was great I just never seen it. Now we are finally in the time where people are starting to understand exactly WHY I always said what I said with people being older and actually running through his discography it’s just funny that it happened to turn out as him overthrowing Drake to get there lol. I grew up in dangerous parts of Cincinnati and just even at a young age I always understood every word and perspective Kendrick was coming from and without a father figure or really a mother he’s honestly the only reason I ever got smart enough to understand not only removing myself from all of the situations I was in but becoming a man and how to act like a honest human being. I always told people Eminem and Lil Wayne can be the best at wordplay, generational artists like Biggie and Pac will always have that generational crown, but when your able to tell a story and put things into perspective in a way that’s truly meaningful at the end of the day it’s about ignorance or perspective. People like Future have chosen to only rap about drugs while openly saying he’s been clean for completely sober for 10 plus years and don’t want to lose their fanbase, and people like Kendrick just want to stay underground and make it about the message. Again I hate to overhype him but there’s not a single artist in the world whose managed to bring this many people together on a simple message that matters today like getting these weirdos out of the spotlight (especially with all the things coming out about celebrities today) or being able to unite gang culture. It’s truly something people will be talking about for generations, and it feels like we’re at the beginning of it all
