I am a pastor and have pastured for 40+ years. The songs written by Ronnie, Kenny and others of the family have helped pick me up in those times pastors experience challenges that there was no education or schooling that could help us through. The anointing of the Hinsons gave me hope and directed me to the reason I was in Ministy. Jesus

I see so many today who are leaving everything they were ever taught about Jesus, no standards, cold, in the world. Angry at any suggestion it's still a narrow way & God said be ye holy. Tears my heart out, but i'm not going off this narrow path, bc Jesus is on it! And I'm not walking with out the Lord.

All the groups there got hungry. We volunteered to to to McDonalds.. we purchased around 45 hamburgers t& French fries that day!! It was amazing to see that this is just a corner of the studio with concrete floors and some lattace work behind them..

I WON'T WALK WITHOUT JESUS It use to be when I was sinning, Satan stopped somewhere grinning; As the pleasures that he brought they turned on me. Then tear drops came like the rain a falling, When I heard my Savior calling; If you can't go on anymore just lean on me. And I won't walk without Jesus, I won't talk without Jesus; I refuse to live one day as before. I won't go without Jesus, Just ain't so without Jesus; Everything that I would do, I just won't do without the Lord. A beggar lame at the gate just sitting, All his life he'd been regretting; Cause he never stood or strolled on down the street. But God sent Peter and John by his way, "Won’t you look up on us" Peter did say; "Now rise up and walk in the name of the Lord!" And he leaped to his feet and that begger cried Repeat chorus

It took the original group to open doors and break down the barriers between southern and country gospel. It's because the work of the Hinsons that you can now see country and SG artists performing on the same stage. But there are others that have contributed, Bill Gaither, Dottie Rambo, etc. Bo Hinson sings great country ballads, but he doesn't have the southern gospel harmony. Eric can sing baritone and lead, but he also has a stronger country sound and not that 4-part harmony sound that southern gospel cherishes. There's no way of knowing for sure because history has already been made, but I doubt the Hinsons would have gotten through the SG door without Larry. They would have made country gospel history, but it took that rich baritone of Larry's to ensure the deal. I think Kenny actually thought their career was over when Larry left the group because he knew how important Larry's voice was to the group.

Larry said he sang Tenor. He won an award for baritone but Kenny even said it was tenor.

Yes, Eric Hinson was their Nephew and later came Bo Hinson, which is Ronny's son. Kinda would've loved to see Weston Hinson, Kenny's son sing with them but both Kenny and Weston sounded the same. It wouldn't be fare for a blind person hearing The Hinsons and to have Weston sing his part then Kenny does his not knowing it's two different singers.
