Everyone always calls Arthur an idiot and a simple-minded fool, but he clearly has a good understanding of shading, texture and perspective. I bet if people in the gang saw Arthur’s journal they would change their minds about his intelligence.

Hosea mentions this too in one of camp conversations, that he knows Arthur smarter than he looks, and he wants arthur to stop playing dumb brute and start thinking for himself
@Grivian4 ай бұрын
Arthur has the kind of voice that makes his sound dumb but he is not. That is why the journal is so important. It shows how thoughful and philosophical he is, writing about the viking grave, small church etc.
@Magiczny-Krzysztof Жыл бұрын
To be fair, John was pretty new at making journals during the epilogue (he wrote like only few pages before the epilogue), while Arthur had way more experience before, Mary Gillis said that he was always a great writer IIRC.
@Grivian4 ай бұрын
Arthur has probably kept a journal and been drawing his entire life. John has just started out, inspired by Arthur.

Compared to Arthur's, John's look very amateur. Comparing John's to what I might draw, and John seems like an artist

@-yeme- Жыл бұрын
they try to make it like john is bad at drawing but his journal stuff was obviously done by a talented artist trying to make it look basic, its clearly the same person who did arthurs drawings. his proportions and perspective are all spot on, and those are things people who cant draw always get wrong 1:35 like that little sketch of a horce from a quarter angle is perfect in just a few lines
@argentumsoundАй бұрын
It was a horce... named Horace.

The fact that John probably took days off from writing just to draw birds and frogs- 💀💀💀

One of the greatest games ever but this was one thing that really bugged me is I'll never be able to see all the journal entries. There's just so many between Arthur and John. I wish all of both of their possible journal entries and etchings were available online somewhere. Being a completionist that's the only thing making me feel incomplete about the game. All the camp scenes are hard to catch to.
@PerkinsVR5 ай бұрын
i feel your pain, but i also feel like thats the part of the development team's vision for more dynamic characters. they probably didnt want you running around to every single character in camp after every mission, just to see if they had something new to say like its a mass effect game.

Would love to see what Jack would think about seeing Arthur and John’s journal in 1914, I wonder what his art and writing style would be like?

John putting I’m getting married is kinda of funny
@mr.blancov3297 Жыл бұрын
The difference it's because John is better in worker ability (like build a house). Arthur have a natural attitude in arts and grammar. This is funny, because Arthur was for freedom but have a natural attitude in abilities collegates with high civilation. Also, Arthur is very similar too Jack in art\intellectual things. Like Jack take it from Arthur.

John’s aren’t bad, but you can tell he probably didn’t sit and draw for more than a few minutes each. Rather than showing a lack of artistic skill, I think it shows a lack of deeper interest.

@@kaydensolano1323 In 1889, an Austro-Hungarian company called Koh-I-Noor introduced the first yellow wooden pencils at the World Fair in Paris. Their pencils were yellow because they were filled with graphite from China where the color was associated with royalty and respect

Most likely charcoal or silverpoint. Both were extensively used for writing and sketching before the invention of pencils.
