I did this again today for practice, since I had to run up the high bounty for the bandit challenge I figured I might as well get horse at the same time. New twist, when the bounty was over 300 I waited till the lawmen gave up the chase and I slowly went back towards annesburg. They were standing around in a about an 8 to 10 lawman scrum on horses talking. I just waltzed up to the one on the tobiano, and took him off and took the horse. Easy as that. Yes, they chased me, but I didnt need to do it in the heat of battle. I think Rockworth should do it this way in a video for us. It was so simple.

I have found this horse at a camp site right outside of Valentine, and at a camp site near Owanjia, but they were all female. This method produced a male. I hated losing the honor, but catch and release fishing fixed that. In chapter 2, the max bounty is $300, so that's six large jewelry bags, which are easily obtained by riding away and returning.

There’s another way to get this horse but same method. Is you can ride into blackwater as soon as stables become available in chapter 2. Piebalds are somewhat common for pinkertons to ride in on.

Cool video. By the time the game gives you one in chapter 5 it's not worth selling one of the other horses to keep it. Going to try this for sure on my next playthrough so I can get it early and ride it for a while. The lawmen have the coolest hats. Wish there was a way to keep them.

@RockworthRDR2 you can get the black and white Hungarian half breed in chapter 2 I think Holding up the stage wagon missionwhich uncle gives..you get ambushed in the middle of the hold up and have to flee and hide in a barn which sets on fire running out into the forest the last 3 law men 1 rides in on a b&w Hungarian half breed, kill him and chase after the horse until it stops, the mission finish then, go back to the place it stopped it should be there for you to claim it

Another place to find them are the stagecoach robberys from the train station tips. I did a robbery outside of Strawberry and one of the guards/or responding police rode one. Its hard to say for sure, I kinda turned it into a gong show but if I wanted it, I could have gotten it easy.

I tried, having to reload the save three times. Finally got it from the third wave of mounted lawmen, they shot my horse out fom under me, fought a wild battle on foot, revived my old mount and found the HHPT to the west of the Stables. Best $300 i ever spent. I ended up killing two HHPT in the gunfight...and about thirty lawmen.

@@RockworthRDR2 I been practicing with my save at that point. I can get it now pretty consistently. I think most players learning the game should do this on a save. Its great practice to learn how to battle that many bounty hunters and police. I am now able to fight off most of them in the game. Running seems the best idea early on, but now I know its good to stay put, kill them all, and get out.

@RockworthRDR2 The gold Turkaman is absolutely beautiful, in my current rd2 play only using one horse..that big brute hosaer gives you sell in the bear hunt mission I kept it named him Black Jack!❤️ I think he is the biggest bravest horse in the game

@@Kyujin666 The Gold Turkoman is something else, indeed. That black brute you get early in chapter 2, looks majestic, sadly his stats aren't the best. Even fully bonded your only getting 4's and 5's with good gear. Fox trotters are fox trotters, if you get a good one, that's a fast steed you got there. But they're dime a dozen, even the more rare special variant, and the Arabian horses are superior and "technically" there's only 2 of each readily available during the game especially since Rocksteady patched out the random horse thing for NPC's. My favourite is the Turkoman Gold, though. Only one of him [Mine was a him, I presume my next will be a him too] and that's at St Denis stable in chapter 4. Beautiful horse, and fast and brave and dependable. [I even subbed him out right before Arthur's last mission, so that Horse didn't die, not that Marsten inherited him, but still...]]

Yeah when i got the horse they kept shooting it. I had to make sure i got the potent horse stimulant and medicine because they will aim foe the horse and it doesnt have the greatest health yet. 😢 Thanks for the video. This method works great.

I was out today trying to decide between my black arabian, or the piebald. Used both bonded to lvl 4. The both encountered cougars. The Piebald threw me off at the sight of it, instantly. The arabian held on cool as a cucumber as I killed from mount. I was surprised also. Both bonded to 4, both chilled out, fed and all. The piebald will be sold.

Each horse is different, all capable of bucking under certain circumstances, but each individually more/less reliable than others, regardless of breed. It’s deep partner. Go there and see how long it takes to spawn in real-time…I bet it’ll take longer than this method by far. What you’re leaving out is that plenty different horses/breeds spawn randomly at bounty hunter camps. it’s no guarantee it will spawn at all during your game session. This method is a guaranteed spawn.

The good thing about that place is that you have the opportunity to study many horses, which is very useful if you aim to complete the compendium. Honestly, the best horse I've owned in that game isn't even one you can get, at least for free. It's that Turkoman monster of a horse you can acquire I believe in chapter 4 from St Denis, the one that's got a Gold coat. It's stats are not only freaking amazing, it's super brave, very reliable, the one I had seemed to have a good nature and not only that, you WON'T see another horse like it, anywhere. It almost has the speed of an Arabian, has the same acceleration, and typically has the kind of health and Stamina you would expect from a Turkoman race/war hybrid. It's a bit like the one you can acquire from the horse stealing mission in chapter 3, only it's more memorable. All of which is why I have to ask, all that preparation, all that slaughter, for a admittedly fairly rare coat of a horse that only has 3's and 4's or sometimes 4's and 5's for it's stats? Why settle for middle of the road, when you can get a great horse in chapter 3 and use one of two great race horses before that, from the start of Chapter two? The White, surely people know where that is by heart, by now? And you can easily get a black Arabian from the START OF chapter 2, if you just go right to St Denis and hang around on the T of Saint Denis on the map [the street ON the T that is] as the clock strikes 12 PM, an event will play out, and you can STEAL a Black Arabian as it's all unfolding.[If your quick you won't even get a bounty] And if you don't do any of that in the same horse stealing mission the 3 horses you steal are a WHITE ARABIAN a BLACK ARABIAN and the Turkoman Race/War hybrid [which is almost as good in movement stats and typically superior in physical stats] which I already mentioned. Any one of which can be bonded with to level 1 and become a temporary mount [which means the fence guys can't take it] and then retrieved by going back to the horse fence as soon as the mission ends.

That rarest American paint, top half is black and bottom half is white is a super horse, you can only steal it from a night camper, straight of the bat from lvl 1 great stamina speed and handling! Starting a new game I always try and find one at night ❤

I got it! What a s-show. Got tackled, broke free, jumped on a piebald paint, ran back to assesberg, chased into the water, ran along the shore, was near death, got health, killed the next wave, saw a piebald, bounty was 360, jumped on, rode off. Went back and revived my main horse and high tailed it outta there. What fun that is! Thank you so much! Manson is now bonded.

Yes indeed. Everyone got it when shaving Sean from Blackwater. After trelawny create the distraction, you and javier take the pinkertons silently. And then, first two pinkertons you kill, one of them has a bolt rifle (on the left one), but you need to headshot him if im not mistaken, so he can drop bolt action rifle. You can also have machete on that mission, when save charles on top hill.

Only noobs care about bounties, you can also dont pay anything if you dont have any money, you can surrender and it will pay off your bounty for free. And while this is not the best way to get the horse because you can get it on that mission from chapter 5 it is the most fun way. Enjoy the game and stop caring about bounties.
