Joe, I saw you at RE+ but didn't say hi as I was with a client at our booth, the largest solar OEM booth at the show. Keep up the great work!

Can you review the new Franklin a - power 2 battery? I was about to buy the a-power battery and I’m wondering whether it’s worth waiting for the new model. Thank you.
Let's be honest here: Solar is like the Wild West in the 1800s. Nobody has a crystal ball. We simply don't know who's going to be around 20 years from now. For Example: Although solar panels are arguably the most reliable component. I chose SunPower brand because they've been around the longest. Now they've made a split with Maxeon and SunPower appears to be up against the ropes. Also the United States isn't exactly in a friendly relationship with China AND DAMN NEAR EVERYTHING IS MADE IN CHINA! IMO: although Tesla is also made in China, my gut tells me Tesla will be around at 20 years from now. If I had to do it over again I probably would have still chosen the same panels, but I would have gone with Powerwall 3's since they're all made in China anyway.

why is it so hard to get an installer to install what I want? Every installer I contact only wants to install the brands they want.
@SnerdlesАй бұрын
Contracts, stock, and pricing. They probably have some type of deal with distribution to order certain bundles (usually palettes or even containers) of panels. That way they will get good pricing and shipping is cheaper so if you need 18 panels of a specific type they may have to order a whole palette of 33 and then would be stuck with 15 random panels that will be hard to sell.

@@Snerdles But if I purchase all the components all they have to do is install it and only warrant their labor. Even that I can't find anyone to do it.
@SnerdlesАй бұрын
@@rockys7726 Why would anyone ever do that. It sounds like a liability nightmare where they are constantly fighting about who's fault failures are. I don't think any contractor in any industry would ever do something like that. Maybe if you hire someone specifically just to be a labourer and you take on all liability but then you'd have to deal with companies directly for any issues and that's going to turn in to a mess of finger pointing... That whole situation just sounds like a nightmare.

@@Snerdles Hence my initial post. It's impossible to find anyone that will install the components that I want.
@SnerdlesАй бұрын
@@rockys7726 No, that's not what's happening. What's happening is that you want people to install random equipment that they know nothing about which no rational person would do. Find a distributor and installer that carries what you want instead of making delusional demands and it would work better.
