I just got my console and about panicked when I updated the firmware and this exact thing happened to me. You saved me opening a ticket with Presonus, though I'm really happy to hear that if I had to, it would have been a reasonable experience based on what you said. That is comforting. Thank you for making this video!

Excellent.. I stopped chasing updates on my 32s ..it can get ridiculous ... cause it works 100% now but I may do this Calibration...sounds like it revisits the limits of each fader position. Cheers..Steve

How can it mess up your board if it's built to do this with the firmware update? Seems like you would do more damage by panicking and forcing it to stop doing this.

For the calibration, there was no mention from Presonus that a re-calibration would be conducted. Though, a re-calibration of the faders can be conducted at any time manually.

Subtle flex…here’s out ‘other’ wicked board. LOL, one hopes. On a more serious note, how much do you like that board in general?

It's a great console. We've been very pleased with them. In my professional opinion (for sound reinforcement use), the control layout, the format, the work-flow... all much better than other digital consoles I've mixed on. The console can be used as a DAW, but I have no experience with studio (DAW) work, so I can't comment on that aspect of it.

Can this Presonus StudioLive series III console be used connected to a DAW using Studio One, Pro Tools, etc. to simultaneously mix multiple tracks at once as the song is playing (real-time) when mastering as normally done in studio? Or is it just basic live mixer with only the added feature of recording the separate tracks (which is still pretty cool)? From what I understand the older (‘classic’) StudioLive 16.4.2 etc. models (and most other similar consoles) cannot actually be used in combination with a DAW app for the real-time simultaneous multi-track mastering and can only perform the recording stage of the process. Hence in order gain the ability to do real-time multi-track recording (using faders for at least eight individual tracks) while mastering with a DAW app requires the addition of a Presonus FaderPort 8 or 16 (or similar device). Please correct me if I am wrong or confirm if I am right. Thanks.

That's a good justification as to why you shouldn't buy it. It's obviously beneath you. LOL
