Personally i think the idea of characters saying the same word over and over again could've been creative and clever and has potential for some really fun gags. Dexter did it just fine but Teen Titans Go did it awfully. I think Waffles should've started with Cyborg and Beast Boy having a fight about breakfast foods and then Raven puts like a spell on them cursing them to only say breakfast food and then they make it a game to see how long they can go by only saying breakfast food. Robin and Starfire look confused but they're not mad or annoyed and then maybe the antagonist could be like random food monsters that Beast Boy and Cyborg imagine and then at the end the spell wears off, they go back to speaking normally and they learn about the balance between a healthy and unhealthy breakfast. They could be probably get a lot of fun gags out of just coming up with random breakfast foods and obsessing over breakfast. It might not've been amazing but man, it would've been way better than the one that we actually got. I definitely prefer the Big Cheese over Waffles. Waffles feels like wasted potential. The Big Cheese is a classic.

The most important meal of the day. Serving it up, the recast way. Nice job on the video. Lots of really good news in this episode, minus the passing of Tim Conway, r. I. P. Man. one thing about Netflix that I would like, is if they put more emphasis on, to distance themselves from the other streaming Services is to make themselves the biggest hub for foreign and independent shows and movies. Netflix has always been somewhat experimental when it came to the exclusive shows, and they're known for having a lot of different foreign shows and films from different countries, so why not build the bulk of their library on more niche genres, to get them more exposure, well also building relationships with the movie Studios that Disney, Time Warner, and Comcast, don't own. The deal with Nickelodeon to release the Rocco and Invader Zim Revival movies, Is a good example of relationships they can build with other companies. One thing that Netflix still has that Disney doesn't have, minus Pokemon, Beyblade, Yokai Watch, and some of the Studio Ghibli films, are anime, of course there's already notable competition from FUNimation and Crunchyroll, but it's one example of Niche content that Disney doesn't have a lot of connections with, outside of the stuff I mentioned.. in fact on that note, maybe some more emphasis on independent Western animated shows too. BoJack Horseman is successful, and they're also getting creators like Alex Hirsch and Craig McCracken, So hey there's Something else to add there.

You are not alone on maple syrup, Pieguy. I like the taste of it, but can't stand how sticky and messy it is, so I almost never use it. I like putting fruit (usually sliced bananas) and cinnamon on my pancakes instead.

I don't want to defend Waffles, but they were probably basing this more on Cyborg and Raven's interaction in Crash( Cyborg: Raven, you like waffles don't you?! Raven: More than life itself.) and Cyborg the barbarian( Raven: Evil beware, we have waffles.)

I am going to challenge your assertion about the anime and say that you are more in line with the *dub* than the writing. The anime would have written a perfectly serviceable version of this- confer Mewtwo's origin involving deaths in the original Japanese- but 4Kids would never have actually allowed it to reach American air.

I decided to split this tangent into a different comment, because the other one was starting to get really long. Also, I apologize if this sounds confusing, but if you can understand what I'm trying to say , then here you go. About the reboots thing, I've been thinking a lot about this lately, thanks to a twitch streamer I watch. He brought up that, instead of companies always trying to remake a franchise, why don't they just make them more re-imaginings, or different interpretations of particular franchises. Really adaptions of classic movies, has been a thing, probably since the Foundation of Hollywood, a lot of Disney's animated movies are adaptions of already existing stories for instance, even some movies. Take the sought-after Alice in Wonderland live action stop motion film as an example, although this film was released around the exact same time as Disney's version. If Studios tried to do their own thing with movies more, maybe they can make an entirely new version of a franchise, that the younger Generations can relate more to, while the older Generations still have the versions they grew up with that Studios can acknowledge in marketing and stuff. It's really hard to make remakes or reboots of franchises that both audiences can enjoy, and ultimately, regardless of how good the Remake is, you're going to still get people who aren't satisfied. Trying to make more newer takes on older IPs, instead of constantly trying to Pander to two different audience expectations at once, Should, I feel, take some of the weight off of these reboots. of course this doesn't excuse poorly made adaptions. in fact I feel that's part of the reason why remakes and reboots are so hated nowadays, because a lot of them got either mixed results, or just weren't good. Remakes and reboots can be good, but again, it's very tough to do it right and because a lot of the crappy ones still make money, it gives Hollywood less of an incentive to care, or take their time.

Not sure if you take topic suggestions through comments, but if you ever decide to go back to the Pokemon anime for a RE-Cast episode I think The first episode of Ultra Adventures (Sun and Moon season 2) and the first episode of XYZ (XY season 3) would be great to compare. They're both incredibly similar in plot and premise, and there are even a few elements of A Dream Encounter that feel like direct homages to From A to Z. XYZ and Sun and Moon are also very different from each other as series so I just think it'd be cool to see what you guys thought of the two? Anyways, awesome RE-Cast episode as always, really glad to see it back! I had forgotten you guys moved the day to Wednesday so I was really pleasantly surprised to see this episode pop up in my notifications.

I just finished watching Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures on Netflix, and that show was pretty weird at times. They did a lot of gross humor that I didn't like since I hate seeing a video game icon farting. I don't know if that is worse or better than the 80s cartoon, which I have seen every episode of too. Since they share what they watch, I might as well share too. Great podcast! I love chocolate chip pancakes and waffles too! Chocolate chip muffins are the best though imo.

Ok I like the podcast, but it is a lot more interesting when you bring on a guest who hasn’t been on before. I find myself a lot more hesitant to watch the episodes like this one without a guest or with someone you’ve already had on a couple times (no offense meant to Shadow Streak or Kuro the Artist, I just prefer more variety), compared to episodes where you got someone I wasn’t too familiar with or didn’t expect you to get, like AniMat, FutureGohan or Phantom Strider. I understand that it’s not always easy to bring on guests. I just wanted to point out something that I’ve noticed lately. Still though, I’ll continue to support the podcast.

there's no way i wanna pitch my original cartoon series's "Albert in the Villain world" & "Super Chuck & his Justice friends" for Netflix cause they might wanna scrutinize my characters to the wall & make em the next Minions!! for me i'd say either Cartoon Network or Disney XD while i'm at it & Nickelodeon to a certain extant not really again Netflix is still becoming way to big way too fast like crispy cream.

I love Robin Williams as the Genie, don't get me wrong, but he was acting like Robin Williams in it. he didn't make a new character at all, it's just like his standup. Robin Williams has had other roles where actually shines as an actor and ACTUALLY CREATED A CHARACTER!! Genie, is not one of them, it is just the role that most adults grew up with.
