You want to know why Employee of the Month worked in Teen Titans, but Employee of the Month Redux in Go fails? 1. It is literally just a copy and paste of the original one. No effort to tr and make it unique or parody it or anything. It is just them stealing the episode and just reusing it for Go! If it was a Go! original, then it could have been funny since it uses a lot of the same jokes to original version did. But no, it's just copy and paste. 2. The original was funny because it DIDN'T fit. It was a nice break from the normal stuff you would see, and a nice bit of comedy before the intense 3-part season 4 finale. 3. The episode was clearly another insult to fans of the original. It's "Hey look the original had goofy nonsense! Why can't our?" I am not saying that you can't have goofy nonsense but this is just a carbon copy of an episode from the original. It's not that you do off the wall nonsensical comedy, it's that TTG does it poorly. This episode could have been good had it not been just a cut and paste of something else. The jokes themselves are funny as is the plot, but the issue is you are just stealing from the original series to do this! That really shows the difference in quality that one of the 'funnier' episodes is just a cut and paste job. Even then it's not that funny because we already saw this exact same episode in the original. Edit: By 'you' I mean the writers. Not PieGuy. Just wanted to make that clear. Sometimes when I write 'reviews' it is as if I write in in a fashion I am talking to the person who made the product.

For your reboot question of the week: Hero: 108, but it would never happen for obvious reasons. If you don't know what it is, I would personally reccomend watching it. It could be confusing, but at the very least the episodes are officially free on KZbin. Question of the week 2: Ducktales 2017. If that is considered a reboot and not a revival. Not really sure the border lines. ShadowStreak? Nice! I binge watched most of his PPG 2016 videos in one day. That episode must have been fun to rerecord audio for. 1. Go. 2. Go. 3. Go. 4. Go. 5. I still think Go sucks (I watched it a lot and usually it was just to fill time because other family members watched it) The jokes never landed and felt akward most of the time. Granted I was 13 when I first saw it, but still. It felt immature in the type of way my classmates were at school, so I was more annoyed if anything. Nice podcast! Can't wait to see more!

I'm fairly certain the reason for the Monster's Inc. cartoon is because of the Kingdom Hearts video games, which have Monster's Inc as a world, as well as Toy Story. These are the only two Pixar movies in the games I can think of so far, and since this is Kingdom Hearts III, the only other time this was really done was Tron 2.

Teen titans 2003 was not the 'original', it's of itself an adaptation of the comic books. Teen titans go it just different adaptation of this franchis that has exsisted since the 60s.

The Tv series from '03 was the original animated version (unless you count that anti-drug ad with no audio). Besides, TTG is clearly meant to based off of the '03 cartoon, and not the comic book, in many ways. It takes it's character designs, voice cast, and many different concepts, such as this episodes. It tries to be a follow up to Teen Titans ,while also deliberately spitting in the face of the fans of the original show.

Maybe,but it doesn't mean that the fans of the '03 should complain that "this isn't the characters/narratives are spoused to act,they should act like the original" because the '03 version didn't make the characters nor the narratives,just like there are a lot of versions of batman,some are goofy,some are serious and some are mixed yet people don't complain that "this isn't how batman should be" or at least not as much as TTG

@@allyssaswain2394 There have been multiple versions of Teen Titans throughout DC history. The Young Justice 2011 cartoon is usually counted as an adaptation of TT for example. The creators even said that they didn't call them like that just because there was another Titans cartoons a few years before and they didn't want to give the impression that YJ was a reboot of TT2003.

2003 TT made a lot of it's own narratives, and the complaints about TTG aren't so much that it's different in and of itself, it's that it's different in a bad way. The Titans in TTG are annoying, bratty, selfish, at times sociopathic, and just generally unlikable. Incarnations of Batman have ranged from ultra-gritty to fairly lighthearted, but the best received versions always have the same core.

Question 1: I want my fabled ChalkZone fifth season OR a Making Fiends reboot or continuation! Both shows from Nickelodeon that deserved more. Also I WANT my ChalkZone merch! Admittedly I haven’t seen enough of Teen Titans to have an opinion on it while I’ve seen enough of Go! to know the comedy doesn’t work for me personally. Interestingly, my friends who did like Teen Titans growing up also like Go!, though one did later admit that Go! is pretty stupid. As for the questions, #1: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is the only reboot I can think of that I’ve enjoyed, though I haven’t caught up with it since Season 7. I’m also hoping the Evangelion Rebuild movies are good since I haven’t seen them yet (love the original series, though) and the last one is supposed to come out in 2020. #2: I don’t know what show I’d want to see be remade since I feel pretty happy with leaving most of my childhood favorites in the past. Actually, scratch that; I’d love for El Tigre to come back for its Latino representation, the interesting premise, and it was just fun to watch lol. In any case, not a bad podcast idea, Pieguy, and I hope to see more of the Re-Cast soon!

Oh my god they pulled a psyco. If you dont know the horror film from the 60s psyco was remade by a man by the name of gus vant sam. The original was in black and white but the remake was in color. This added nothing and actaully subtracted from the atmosphere from the original.

Danny Wave Not counting the reboot, I heavily dislike Omniverse (too kiddy and near-parodying itself as a whole), but I also dislike Alien Force Season 3, with the way that they did a 180 on Ben’s developing teenage character and turned him back to his original immature self. But yeah, I like the OG series, Alien Force (except Season 3), and Ultimate Alien (although starting from Season 2, it had a couple of plot contradictions and cliffhangers, namely the Elena/Nanochips saga)

I'm gonna be that guy who mainly just likes the original series. I liked Alien Force's first two seasons for the most part, but there were a LOT of things about Alien Force's premise that continues to bug the hell out of me ten years later (primarily how Kevin and Gwen's romance was handled and how Gwen's powers were retconned to be alien instead of magic). Ultimate Alien had some neat premises and it was interesting getting to see the movie villains return, but a lot of sub plots like Charmcaster taking over the realm of magic went nowhere due to Dwayne McDuffie's death, the first season's arc finale took a very drastic turn in a direction the show was NOT nuanced enough to stick with, and the less said about that final arc of the show I feel the better. Also, this show continued on with the dumb retcons that Alien Force's third season shoved out in droves to the point where I swear half of the episodes in this show and Alien Force are not even canon anymore. Omniverse I didn't get to see too much of because Cartoon Network could never put it in a decent time slot, but what I saw of it didn't really impress me, though I don't hate it. I did't mind the more comedic nature of the show (the original series could get REALLY silly at times) and I couldn't give any less of a damn about the art style. I liked Rook and Malware seemed like an alright villain, but it never really grabbed me. From what I understand, some of the later story arcs get kinda weird, so maybe I got out at a decent enough time.

Cartoon Critic Yea, I mean, it’s hard to count Ben 10 as a well-thought out series with so many experimental creative decisions in the later 3 series, as well as the reboot which we shall not mention... I can see why people like the original, but there are some folks that like Teen Ben better, before AF Season 3 came along and brought him back to his immaturity. I mean you’re right, Dwayne’s death (God rest his soul, he died too soon) did scatter so many things. But you know, I like Ben 10, and although I wasn’t happy with the decisions that they’ve made (such as the decision to make the Ben-Kai ship canon, since everyone doesn’t like her, period), it’s a decent show. But I ignore the reboot these days.

William Colon I mean I get why people like Teen Ben. Yuri Lowenthal is great voice actor, and when the show had Ben at the forefront was when AF was at its best. The episode where he's trapped in a desert with a Highbreed is one of my favorites of the whole franchise. I just can't really get behind a lot of the creative decisions. Like, I'm not opposed to Kevin turning face and becoming a good friend to Ben, but I feel like there was a LOT they could have done with to make his turn feel more organic than having him crushing on Gwen pretty much out of nowhere.

Cartoon Critic I see. Yeah, I mean, he returned in the first episode, and then he was forced to help the others, and he immediately adjusted to the group at the end. You’re right about how there should still be dissension between him and the Tennyson duo, building up to him liking being part of the gang, and then having a thing with Gwen. I’m agreeing with the points you bring up, and even though Ben 10 up until Ultimate Alien was my favorite, they could’ve handled things a bit better.
