Re-Creating A Squishy in Real Life | Bake With ME #5

Hey guys! Today I am doing another "squishy bakeover" where I take one of my squishy creations from my squishy makeover series and attempt to bake and bring it to life. These are always such a cluster of fails and struggles since I obviously have no clue how to bake properly. But you guys ask for it, so here it is!
Today I attempted to bake a"strawberry lemonade" swiss cake roll for the first time. It was a little tricky and has a lot of steps, but I managed okay for a beginner I think?
And yes....I changed my intro. I am so nervous about it because I know you guys are used to the old one. But I really like the new one, I think it fits my current content style a little better. I hope you like it! This doesn't mean that anything big is changing right now, I am not ditching any of my current series, nothing like that. I just want to freshen up my branding a little bit.

yeah or you can take the yolks out of the batter and add another egg white so instead of 3 eggs, 4 egg yolks- it takes away the orang-ey tone as well, im sure your method works just as well!

For the pink color: to get a better pink you have to add a little blue or purple(not very much) to neutralize the orange tones. The same this is used in hair and it works for this too.

I'm not a baker or anything but: -what the cake does in the fridge those 2 hours is soak in the cream water, which is why it's better to put some canned whipped cream before the stiffer cream if you want more cream left in the cake - if you want to avoid it smelling like an omelet beat three egg whites separately from the yolks for longer instead of four and fold them in later -to make soft pink put in some molecules of blue food coloring -the chunk things in the cream were probably fruit pieces -I used the word "cream" too many times The roll turned out very accurate and I appreciate the amount of work Moriah puts into her baking, thanks for making this series, it made cooking funner and seem less like a chore.

Love this video but in case anyone's curious, adding the dye to the eggs makes it a lot harder to discern the final colour because they've had air beat into them, which makes them appear a lot lighter. I think the main reason the colour got so dark once the flour was added was because the flour caused the eggs to deflate a bunch. It also kinda explains why the batter got even darker as time passed. (I don't want this comment to come off as a "you did this wrong" comment, I just thought it was an easy thing to miss)

some baking hacks in case you’re interested: you can either add purple food dye to the egg yolks (separate them from the whites first) to neutralize the yellow or just leave the egg yolks out entirely

We ordered your paint brush set from your shop on Spring for our daughter for Christmas. Apparently, the shop failed to put our actual address on the package and only put the city and state and it ended up in Ohio! It took me over two weeks to get a reply from Spring and when I finally did, the correspondence was awful! They would take days to reply and kept asking for our address after I had already told them more than once that I sent it or that they had the correct address. We finally got the paint set for our 11 year old TODAY when we originally ordered it on December 4th of 2022 an it is January 23rd, 2023. Please let Spring know that they need to work on their shipping! My wife and I were very disappointed that she didn't have the art set that she really wanted on Christmas...it came almost a month after! Thank you.

a little tip: to get the colours to be more accurate, don't use the yolks of the eggs just remove them and use the whites. Btw I think the cake turned out really good!
