Cangrande della Scala ebbe questo nome perché era giunta la notizia che l'imperatore in Cina era chiamato Gran Kan. Il nome Veronetta per la parte meno nobile della città, quella oltre l'Adige, risale al periodo napoleonico. Francia e Austria firmarono tra loro una pace che durò quattro anni in cui il confine era segnato dall''Adige. I francesi che stavano nella parte piu nobile della città, entro l'ansa del fiume, dicevano di essere loro a Verona, mentre gli austriaci dall'altra parte erano a Veronette, detto con disprezzo.

Hello Valeria, thank you very much for this video. A long time ago I took a day trip from Venice to Verona. It is a very beautiful city. There I looked at Juliet's house, the amphitheater and some old churches. In a month I will go to Verona for 9 days. I also plan to visit Mantua and Sirmione on Lake Garda. Then I go to Bologna for 8 days. There I will also visit Ferrara, Modena and Nonantola. Kind regards, Stefan from Germany. 🌄🏰🥧
