I was just having this discussion with fellow MTS. Everyone is so concerned with the salon / hair care industry re-opening. I am not seeing protocols coming out for massage therapist. Will look forward to additional updates. Thanks for taking the time to get this conversation started.

Their protocol is to spray, disinfect, wipe down, wear mask throughout whole sessions and possibly wear the clear face shield too if client can't breathe with their mask on face down.

Thank you for this video. It has made me a little more comfortable going back to do massages. I am concerned that massage chains are not following a lot of suggestions. (I have called and talked to friends who work at the chains) They have the volume so if something happens in their establishments we all look bad.

Changing clothes between clients? Um no. Signing a release form for covid is a must. And I do agree with screening. No therapist would massage someone who is sick as a rule that is already in place. A forehead temperature is good.

I work at a franchise in Chicago. The studio reopened this week as the city entered phase 3. Neither I nor my studio have been able to purchase N95 masks. Should I decline work until the masks are available?

The mask shown are the KN95 masks which are available for purchase.

If the client is breathing into a mask (side/supine) and into a pillowcase (propped like a bag beneath them prone), why the concern about changing one's clothes?
