9:40 I have a couple clients that get sharp pain in the back of their shoulders when I put them in a stretch like this...even after I've pretty extensively worked the traps, delts, infraspinatus, teres, etc...I'm not sure what to do about this problem.
@sickness15553 ай бұрын
Of course I can’t be for sure, but when clients tell me they’re having pain “between the shoulder blades” I often find the subscapularis is too tight, causing hyper extension in the rhomboids. Similar to the technique shown here, try abduction the scapula by scooping their arm out laterally. Think like, an uppercut but coming out laterally through the side and overhead. Use your thumb or thenar (subscaps are usually tender) to apply light pressure towards the table (not the ribs) and out laterally. I hope this is helpful.

What do you do when you can't get under the clavicle, and the clients muscle is so solid that there is no give in it?
@hdburgess13 ай бұрын
Seems like this is useful but the client would be very sore….?
@thepogprince3 ай бұрын
Yes, but that's normal when doing deeper, more therapeutic work. If the soreness lasts more than a couple of days, you can use less pressure the next session. But soreness is definitely expected, and it feels different than the pain of dysfunction.

Always make sure to communicate that to your client, of course, so they know to expect soreness.
