A few things, your ship does not have an N2 sensor so it does not auto pressurize nitrogen. You do have an O2 sensor and it is connected to your O2 pump so it will auto fill oxygen to around 23kpa. The NPCs are not fully fleshed out and they refuse to allow other ships to dock to their ship even if they request fuel. IIRC there is a way to force dock NPC ships and transfer fuel to them from the docking interface. It is best to ignore their calls for help as when you dock with them they can try to move their ships, and moving a ship while docked will break both ships, I have actually lost a character from trying to help a ship once.
@kevin_glitch2 ай бұрын
While I also thought that was the issue, the NPC was stating that he needed to change his vector. Even when close to stations, if you aren't lined up with their docking ports, they will say your out of range. I think the issue was actually he wasn't lined up with their docking ports. What made it worse was their constant rotating even though they were claiming to need fuel.

Got me playing this, and solid 20 hours in so far. As for fixing the ship, helps a ton. Was scrapping a ship and can back with a hull breach from a minor bump or something. (Luckily had a proper EVA suit, and had to go back to the station with no atmo.) I read about random impacts that can occur, so just frequent repairs help a ton. As for the emptying and and filling. The bar empties when 'repairing', and fills while 'restoring'. Often get paid tons more when a component is 'like new' over it barely working.

Hey Quill, the way I have found to go through the airlock without losing air from your ship is to click to walk on the striped door (the outer airlock door for the ship you are leaving). Then stand there until the door auto closes. It will look like it's closed on top of you and if you are pulling something, it will look like it is still on the wrong side of the door. Nevertheless, once the door is closed, you can proceed on to your destination. As long as both outer doors (the ones with the red/white stripes) are not open at the same time, there does not seem to be any atmosphere loss. Unfortunately, if your character is on auto, they barrel through without waiting for the door to close and you lose some air.
@dftp3 ай бұрын
I just built another airlock compartment in between the outer and inner doors, though your suggestion does seem to work as well, it's just kind of finicky to not accidentally get your guy to open both doors anyway.

The arcade cabinets are really profitable btw 😄 Those are a priority item. And yeah, there's a bunch of jank in the game and playing does require some tolerating that. The blue thing with N2 canisters that you passed right next to the second 1x1 bin you got is a Miura "Hydra" it's super rare and also really useful in your own ship. If the wreck still exists and you didn't get it, you should go back immediately. The bins and other containers are really the least interesting/important parts of the ship. So you should really be doing an extra round for any equipment you missed, like the Miura intake regulator (sells for about 7k+ iirc, I've never sold one since the only one I've found I installed in my ship)
@ScientistMan963 ай бұрын
I literally just noticed that Hydra while watching, and my eyes went wide watching Quill just wander around past it. That thing is AMAZING for space savings on your own ship, as it does the job of 4 full regulators (12 total spaces used including tanks), but is much lighter and only a 1x1, with 4 tanks inputs (Same 4 N2 tanks, but only takes up 5 spaces). Even if you don't want it yourself, it's worth tens of thousands on the markets.

There are two different parts to repair an item. First: to repair, bring spare parts and attach to complete the item. Second: after the repair comes the restore, where you actually fix the item up to "Like New". Thrusters are a great way to get quite some money for only a 1x2 item when it's restored. ~2400$.

Someone might have already mentioned this on a previous video- you can press G to view the levels of all gases in an area, or right click on a square and then on the top right select to view the compartment. Blue color number is Nitrogen gas, which can safely be low. You only need enough 02 and overall gas pressure breath safely. The station has plenty of air- you can steal some by opening all your doors and letting it flow into your ship through the airlock when you dock (just remember to close them all before you undock).

Also, Quills starter ship does have an extra pump he can hook a nitrogen tank to, only needs to install a n2 sensor to make it automatic. Also useful as emergency backup fuel if you accidentally run out.

Hey Quill! As usual, great video. You got me into this game and I realized that you really need to wait for the airlock doors to close when passing from one side to the other or you really lose the atmosphere inside the ship (especially with you don’t have a N2 pump along with the O2) and I recommend making the airlock as small as possible, I made mine 1x3 and I lose almost no pressure on the main stage of the ship when I pass through the airlocks! Cheers :)

I have come to the conclusion that you can apparently load large objects on top of each other by simply dropping the object. If there is no more space, the objects are stacked loosely and still count as part of the sales zone. So you can take a lot more with you. I don't know if this is intentional, but it works ;-)
@darwithe71233 ай бұрын

The ships dock front to front I've noticed in game, and that's why they were saying that your docking clearance was declined and for you to change your vector. The weirder thing I noticed was their claim of no fuel, but they were rotating as if they had RCS fuel.

Adding a nitrogen pump WILL help with overall cabin pressure, but it WON'T reduce O2 usage AFAIK. O2 will pump until around 23kPa of oxygen specifically, N2 will pump to around 77kPa of nitrogen specifically (overall around 100kPa of atmospheric pressure). That's why Quill's pressure was so low during the episode -- he only has the O2 pump, so it's only going to around 23kPa total pressure and then turning off.

Had my ship explode when I boarded after buying something and it basically crashed the game as the FPS turned into frames per minute. Seems there really is issues with items being stacked on the ground. Reading the update notes fixing bugs like an entire station population instantly dying when you dock is really worrying. Also the stuttering is REALLY bad and keeps getting worse the longer the save goes on. Great game for what it is, but holy cow is it buggy and janky beyond belief. Crazy how it's been in EA for 4 years and they're planning a 1.0 launch next year.. feels like it needs at least another 2 (and a UI redesign in many areas), especially if those forum posts about being light on content outside of salvaging and shipbuilding are true. If Kitfox got them the ability to really focus on development and speed things along, then there's hope.

From what I've read on reddit, you have to purchase a derelict from the real estate office, or it will be flagged as stolen. Outside of that, people have said that it is recommended to just claim one of the derelicts as your new ship when you can. There's no way you came up with that little money with all the derelicts. I've gone through maybe 5 of them and am already at almost 200k. Make sure to also salvage big machines and components like reactors, batteries, pumps, heaters, coolers etc. via uninstall commands. repair/restore them if necessary because they're very profitable when selling, especially to the fence. If you're desperate you can start to literally tear apart the derelicts piece by piece and collet scrap that way.

I would say just save often and revert as soon as you get an annoying glitch, the game's not at a "losing is fun" stage yet when most of the losing situations come from unintended bugs so save "scumming" is fine imo. Those disorderly conduct charges are also bugged I think. You can only get them rid by going to prison or paying the lump sum.
