Within the mid-century modern walls of Seattle's Canlis, brothers Mark and Brian honor the legacy of a restaurant that has been in their family for nearly 70 years. Founded by their grandfather, Peter Canlis, Canlis was conceived to be a unique fine dining destination, providing incredible food and hand-to-heart hospitality. In the kitchen, James Beard nominated chef Brady Williams takes a modern spin on the Japanese-influenced dishes that have come to define Canlis' cuisine. Guided by their core mission, Mark, Brian, Brady and the restaurant team work tirelessly "to live out and grow the idea that it's worth putting other people first." Sponsored by Cacique.

This is world-class high quality production! It reminds me a lot of Netflix's documentary 'Chef's Table' that I love so much. Congratulations because this short movie has made me capable of dreaming. Really inspirational!

This was my earliest exposure to truely fine dining. As a gift my parents asked a friend where I would like to eat, but couldn't afford... and it was Canlis. Please believe me when I say I would not be in my current position if it were not for the service, the care, and yes the food, that I recieved that lovely and eye-opening night. It has been the gold standard in my talks with peers, others in the indistry, and the employees I get to work with. From arrival to departure, the evening was all about your guests, us. Absolutley, well done.

Is it just me or does the house/building reminds you of a real life version of Kim Possible's house?

Noah Hansot Though I’m a food snob , in the past I’ve had to eat at very pedestrian restaurants on the road. Okay, so as much as I hate to admit it, in my lifetime I’ve eaten about 10 meals at a Denny’s. Average check was $14. Now I’m doing the math: I’d gladly trade the total price of those 10 mediocre meals(poorly cooked & served by a high-turnover, miserable , disharmonious staff at Denny’s) for... Yes, indeed, I’d gladly spend that same $140 for one nice meal at a special place like Canlis. Sometimes the right thing to do is to gift yourself with something you deserve: a perfect meal, served well, and to feel gratitude for all it required for that plate of food to end up in front of you. True, there are dozens of over-priced hipster restaurants that are a rip-off, but a place like Canlis delivers $280 of value for that $140 price. With Canlis, it’s not a spotlight on riches, it’s an embrace of wealth. Big difference. Thank goodness for places like Canlis who get it... they aren’t selling just food & beverage, they are making art and exchanging it for smiles and happy bellies.
