This video is a re-upload! Due to a very small piece of music, our entire Back to the Future video was muted. We thought it was better to just delete that sh*t, change the damn music, and re-upload, so that you guys could actually hear the video and stuff. So... that's what we did.
We intentionally released this on an odd day and time to help avoid confusion. If you somehow accidentally clicked on this expecting a brand new video and not a re-upload, we apologize for your moderate inconvenience.
No movie is without sin and stuff. Merch: teespring.com/...

It's not explored in the movie but he could have purchased the plutonium through a third party, the intention being that neither side had direct visibility of the other. He said earlier in the movie that the "bomb" was for a group of Libyan nationalists. It doesn't necessarily follow that the plutonium actually came from Libya.

A movie presents a discrete story that isn't magically changed by a sequel. (And that's good, if you consider the dip in quality in most sequels.) The point is that in _this_ movie, Biff is presented as just a violent jerk, but there's a weird moment where he's suddenly happy to _murder_ someone in public.

I don't know if someone will read this but I'll try to explain some time travel theories to you (for 5:41 bulletproof and not changing location): If Doc would have changed the location then the Libyans wouldn't have come, and Marty would have never traveled to the past and wouldn't warn Doc about the Libyans, resulting in a time paradox. Same thing would happen if he changed the time. Doc couldn't have told Marty that he will take precautions because the same thing would have happened or, worst case scenario, Marty would get shot and die. So the only opportunity left for Doc is to take precautions without Marty knowing so he would go back in time the same way as he did before to warn him, without actually dying. DOC WAS RIGHT!

Most the Doc footage from Marty's camera when doc watches it is from Stoltz footage with Fox's voice dubbed if needed. so you can notice a few variations of Doc's voice tones as he talks. If I remember correctly, Doc yelling when libyans show up is dubbed in from the Fox reshoot so it matches and has a slightly different 'old tv' sound to it than the rest of the camcorder footage.

I know this is for entertainment value. but: 1. Since Marty is a slacker, he's probably made a habit of NOT paying attention to the time to leave for school. So, the fact he's wearing a watch doesn't necessarily mean that it was for him to keep time. 2. The reason only Dave's head was missing from the picture that Marty first showed Doc is because there was an documented frame of time Marty had to get George and Lorraine to fall in love with each other before the entire picture vanished, along with Marty himself. 3. Marty was not hitting on his own mother in the parked car outside of the gymnasium. He even cringed when he saw her in a strapless dress, showing how uncomfortable he was with seeing her dressed that way despite her being a teenager. He also turned an awkward eye when seeing her smoke a cigarette, and drink liquor. 4. The reason George was able to sock Biff square in the face with his left fist was because Biff had a hold of his right hand, while pressing down on the same arm, with both of his hands. 5. The red headed jackass that tried stealing Lorraine away from George did not witness George knocking out Biff. It was a test to see if George had the guts to keep up his "stand up for himself" momentum, or if his sucker punch on Biff was merely a fluke. 6. Red Thomas was probably in his early 40's back in 1955. So, it wouldn't be unusual to see him only looking 10-15 years older in 1985 when the dim lighting covered up any grey that was in his beard or hair. 7. The fact that the Libyan terrorists had their van lights on when passing by the Delorean after Marty arrived back in 1985 isn't an inconsistency. When the Libyans first pulled into the Twin Pines Mall, now the Lone Pine Mall, they probably shut off their headlights to keep Doc from thinking that they hadn't followed him into Hill Valley. They only turned them back on when Doc saw the van in the distance. 8. Lorraine and George can give credit to Biff for them falling in love with each other because from the time Marty left 1955, neither Lorraine or George physically saw Marty for another 30 years until he returned to 1985, and probably forgot what he looked like during that time.

You know, something I was thinking about was the movement of the Earth around the Sun. Would it be in the exact same place in 1985 and 1955? Wouldn't Marty end up in the middle of space when he went back in time? In fact, the movement of the galaxy alone would make it impossible to remain in the same exact spot on Earth. Although I suppose there could be some kind of inertia that carries over through time travel or something. Anyone have thoughts on this?

DankWarMouse Stop, you're fucking my mind!!!
@OAleathaO

DankWarMouse You're correct, of course. The movement of the Earth (both around the sun and the Earth spinning) and the movement of the galaxy would affect where you would end up. In other words, depending on the amount of time traveled, you'd either be inside the Earth or in space,
@CanisMythson
@CanisMythson 9 жыл бұрын
Aleatha Vogel There is evidence to suggest that the time travel was actually caused by a wormhole, which trancends space and time. It's entirely possible that the time travel works through both space AND time. However, using only technology from 1985, it would be incredibly difficult to build a computer capable of calculating all possible variables (such as celestial movement and the movement of objects or placement of buildings) into the wormhole, which suggests that the technology is indeed improbable, though not impossible. Only Doc Brown knows what the flux capacitor actually does. The thing I don't understand is, if the car is entering an Einstein-Rosen anomaly in order to travel time, then where do the flame trails come from?
@allanmason121
@allanmason121 9 жыл бұрын
SonOfMyths73 "where do the flame trails come from?" The Delorean is obviously equipped with flame spewing tires, along with exploding license plate bolts that leave the rear plate spinning behind the car in the original time, otherwise how would anyone in the original frame of reference know if Doc Brown had been successful?

Interesting to note, but the Delorean is only covered in Ice when it travels FORWARDS in time i.e. during Einstein's test and then again with the clock tower, but it was fixed after Mr. Fusion was installed. Real reason, the filmmakers used Liquid nitrogen to create the effect and simply couldn't afford it every time.

In Part II when they arrive in 1955, the DeLorean has plenty of ice on it. In Part III when Marty arrives in 1885 there is some but the heat of the desert melted it fast. 5:56 Fun Fact- Due to this paradigm, originally cast actor Eric Stoltz, saw the film as a "tragedy" and played the character with a seriousness that the film didn't call for, which is why he was recast with MJF (their original choice) and far better suited for the role as it was written !.. Being that MJF was contractually bound and shooting then tv show "Family Ties" he was initially unavailable when filming was due to set and when a deal was struck with the show, Fox began pulling double duty and filming the film and tv show simultaneously, reshooting all Stoltz' scenes, which was no small task as the large majority of the film had already been filmed with Stoltz, footage which still exists that will hopefully one day see the light of day!...

Maybe Doc also thought he could look up the guy Marty would say in a dictionary or a news archive to see if it was a real person. If someone would be the President in 30 years' time he'd probably have done something noteworthy already - like all Presidents between Eisenhower and Reagan, except Carter, in fact had (in 1955 Kennedy and Johnson were Senators, Nixon was the Vice President and Ford was a Congressman.) Of course since Doc already knew perfectly well who Reagan was he just initially dismissed the whole thing as a bad joke.

One thing which nobody mentions is the repercussions of the entire mall event- You've got a van full of libyan nationalists armed with assault rifles and RPGs who speed into your small american town and start firing off rounds before crashing horribly. That does not just go 'unnoticed'. I'm sure with some investigating, it wouldn't be difficult to discover that Doc Brown was involved (the Libyans found him, why wouldn't the CIA?) and of course discover Marty as an accomplice to the illegal testing of a device which requires a nuclear reaction to function. The video footage Marty filmed would be damning evidence. Doc and Marty would be slapped with theft, treason, and a whole slew of crimes beginning with the word 'intent'. They'd never see daylight again. So why was Marty and Doc allowed to simply leave the scene and go home (Great) scott-free? Because DOC SOLD OUT! He gave the government full access to all of his work in return for his and Marty's freedom. The government uses the time-machine to develop advanced technology (flying cars, hover-boards, dust-proof paper, the ability to control weather (but they still can't fix the damn clock tower)) and even a crack team of time-traveling criminal investigators- allowing the justice system to reach a conviction the same day a crime is committed. The world reaches a utopian state, and Doc Brown's involvement is no secret. He is eventually honored for his discovery.

Shawn Yeakel Grab a sandwich, cuz it's a long one: I suppose it depends on which rules apply. In Back to the Future, time is linear and the future can be changed. You could go back, kill Hitler, and return to a future without Hitler. 'Time-tourism' would have to be very heavily regulated, if not outright banned. Travelling back to anytime before time-travel is discovered would be too risky with the possibility that the time-travel tech is somehow destroyed (butterfly effect, etc), so presumably we would only see time-travellers AFTER we actually learned how to travel through time. Bill and Ted films, on the other hand, seem to also occur in a linear timeline, but the future CANNOT be changed. If you tried to go back and kill Hitler, you would fail- you would die before succeeding/ you would kill the wrong man/ after you killed Hitler, an imposter would take his name and identity and resume Hitler's place in history. In this way, you could go back and fuck around all you wanted without causing any paradoxes's'x'ss...'s... So the only reason the streets aren't flooded with time-tourists is because exactly that- all pasts would just be packed with time tourists. Commercialized time-travel is very finite. Only the most brilliant, the most wealthy, or the most dire scientific requirement, is allowed to travel. Even then, it is likely that training and heavy preperation is required. And besides, if someone went up to you and claimed to be a time-traveller (and you know those people are out there), they're crazy... right? Does it make a difference if you believe them, even if they're telling the truth? If you're a Michael Crichton fan, the universe divides endlessly and exists in all states, like a quantum particle or some shit. You could go back and kill Hitler, but you would do nothing but create an alternate universe without Hitler. Your/our universe with him will still exist as it always has, unchanged, and you could always return here without ever changing anything (or could you return? Would you be lost?). Your influence has a laughably tiny effect on the universe. So, the only reason we don't see time-travellers is because, even if ten trillion people decided to go back to one point in time, they would be scattered across ten trillion different alternate universes, each with trillions of dividing 'twins' where the differences range from the Cold War escalading into a nuclear apocalypse- to a single atom in your neighbor's eyebrow being flipped the other way around and nothing else. Each of those have infinite other 'twins', and so on. Being lucky enough to see a time-traveller would be like getting drawn a royal flush in poker ten thousand times in a row. Take your pick. Me, I don't believe in time travel. But the possibilities are very fun to think about.

That’s not how a time paradox works that’s not how changing the future works the future doesn’t change in degrees so the saying is correct the entire picture itself should have vanished along with Marty. You really don’t need to explain the flawed logic that the filmmakers decided to go with we get it that’s why it’s being called out.

No no no. It's the "ripple effect." The effects of changing the past take time to catch up to items from that present (in the BttF universe). So the siblings should disappear in order of conception, (though not bodypart by bodypart), and probably the picture itself with Marty since no one would've taken the picture with no subject in it. At least that's how I rectify it.

6:14 i'm gonna theorize that time itself in this series *wants* to follow a logical path. Like when the matches from biff are just replaced with a different set in the next movie, when he never would have grabbed any matches were it not for an impulsive theft from the desk, the item opened a hole in time, and time itself put in the item most likely to fill it without any problems. In this movie, had marty never met doc brown, he never wouldve gone back at all, so time made sure that stayed the same. out of universe, we might call that "lazy writing," but its still cool so who cares lol

The DeLorean that would be buried in the Delgado Mine would not be present until after Doc was struck by lightening and sent back to 1885, necessitating a reason to bury that one for Marty to dug up and use.

_Back to the Future II_ is a sad development for Biff, because at the end of this movie, Biff may be a bit of a pushover, but he's not impoverished or bitter. He owns his own business and he's excited and happy for George's success as a writer, since the idea is that Marty ensured a brighter future. You get the impression that because George isn't the type to hold a grudge, Marty helping George made _Biff_ into a better person, which is why Marty's parents credit Biff for their marriage. There's a very good reason why Doc decided to only put on a bulletproof vest and did not try to change the location of the experiment of anything. If he had changed anything in the experiment, the Libyans wouldn't have tried to kill him, and so Marty wouldn't have gone back in time and warned him, so he wouldn't have known about his future and he would have done the same thing again. That would have created a major paradox (or maybe just an endless loop). Because he let history unfold as it would have, and only changed his own fate, he prevented a paradox from happening, and survived the attack. So it's not a sin really. It was the only logical course of action.

No matter what kind of armor he wears, he's gonna have broken bones when hit simply due to the impact. Thirdly, any vest that can let him go unscratched would be so heavy (guessing 60+ lb for a chest-only armor plate) that he'd have difficulty hiding it and he'd have difficulty moving in it.

Part 2: Chuck Berry must have had perfect pitch in order to be able to discern a song over a 1950s long-distance call where the other end was across a large room from the song being played through an amplifier.

He was going to write the song anyway. This isn't the _Terminator_ universe where the future you traveled from is actually the future you created. Marty didn't actually change history by playing "Johnny B. Goode" because that version of Chuck Berry already existed.

@@CountArtha The riff on Johnny B. Goode is "borrowed" from an earlier T. Bone Walker song called Strollin' With Bones.
