I went out to hang out with Jarod Coffman in Denver, Colorado. To walk projects and learn how things are done differently there as opposed to California. The walls they build and the way they do their overhangs are drastically different than our methods out here. Both seem to work and have reasoning behind them.

Mr.Coffman probably has the youngest team of carpenters in the USA, but over time they will become more and more experienced and skillful, and I am sure they will achieve a lot in life. About the falls everyone makes mistakes sometimes, but it gives you additional experience, and it will help you make fewer mistakes in the future to do your job even more efficiently and faster

It should be a requirement as an architect to have first hand knowledge of every aspect of construction in order to graduate. Minimum 6 months in the field actually assisting every trade. Super beneficial to you and even your future design work. Not everything can be taught in a classroom. If you are in the field, many times you will learn what not to do also. I would admire any custom builder who supported something like that.

Bullshit you can go to trade school to learn how to frame . I learned how to do this in high school from a man named Larry Volstine everything I know about how to build a house from the ground up read plans , and how to frame on the job from a guy named John Kern. Everyone on KZbin acts they know this from birth but we all learned from someone older than us . You don't need a construction calculator just the calculator on your phone, but nice to have , all of that can do done in your head. Just need to know too go from decimals to factions, not that hard if you know what your doing. And the people we learned this from n taught us how do this need some love n good ole respect n recognition.
@MattBangsWood
@MattBangsWood 10 ай бұрын
My whole channel is built around knowledge passed down from two generations before me. Jarod himself says that he learns from those around him too. I do not believe a trade school will teach you to frame custom. I do not believe it. I believe it can help you learn, but nothing aside from trial and error on-site building will teach you what you need to know to build large scale homes.
@tommychong1173
@tommychong1173 10 ай бұрын
@@MattBangsWood you can't learn how to read plans on site, notes , schedule ( door n windows) , elevation n details unless your the builder kid or if the olds people teach you. But in all better to know this stuff when u get on site so you can set your price and not get screwed over , getting a low wage for hard work.

@@MattBangsWood he clearly explained his work history being connected to the church. I don't know him. I just stated my experience with people of a similar work history.
