mouths are usually foaming just cause the horse gets sweaty, and when we’re the mouths EVER zip-tied? please give me a time stamp
@Sasha-mn4qk4 жыл бұрын
The “zip tie” is called a flash nose band. It doesn’t cause harm unless it’s extremely tight or there’s a few other circumstances where it could be. I didn’t really notice it being too tight though
@EsteleenW4 жыл бұрын
@@Sasha-mn4qk Thank you for providing the name of the device. The flash nose band forces the horses mouth shut. The horse is foaming at the mouth because the horse can not breath naturally but is expected to perform nonetheless. Whew! I have seen this in horse jumping competitions. It is shocking to see no objection. So I stopped watching. The rider can't have a strong connection with his/her partner (a horse) if the riders are willing to subject their horse to torture in order to compete. In one way, the flash nose band is pleasing on the eye of the spectator however the foaming mouth demonstrates inferior husbandry. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with me.
@Sasha-mn4qk4 жыл бұрын
@@EsteleenW Flash nose bands aren’t always harmful! I don’t think they’re always necessary, but usually they pair well with certain bits. The horse I ride at my barn will sometimes foam. I typically ride her in a gentle snaffle with loose reins to build leg muscles. She gets pretty fired up sometimes. They sometimes foam out of discomfort, but most of the time it’s excitement.

@makayla50063 жыл бұрын
It is absolutely normal for a horse to have foam in their mouth when doing exercise. This is often considered a positive physical trait because it indicates the horse is relaxed and being ridden correctly. If a horse is tense or has bad posture, their mouth dries out. Nothing is wrong, in fact, everything is right. This is usually a concern that people have if they are inexperienced with horses or do not know a lot about them. Please do not say you know all about horses if you do not. Educate yourself first.
@roxannewilliams42983 жыл бұрын
@@kennedyalex4523 foaming at the mouth could show that the horse is accepting the bit, by chewing it and creating such foam and saliva. I do cc and my mare foams every time we use bits. (However I prefer not to use them, so it’s not often)

Using horses for any form of competition is NOT OKAY.
@makenziebrooks5948 Жыл бұрын
Animals are in many forms of competition. Pageants, sports, athletics, teamwork. There are those who aren’t “using” them, instead working with them. My horse isn’t Grand Prix he’s a Grand Meter Prix horse lol. He loves his job, I love him. His ears shoot up looking at the jump, he will knicker and neigh at other horses in joy as he tries to speed and take control in the arena, my baby may be old and an “animal”, but that is my teammate. These horses are athletes too, hence they are treated as such. Any sport is dangerous, would you prefer them be sent to a k***house rather than an arena where they are cared for and trained?
@addie.eq8 Жыл бұрын
They are athletes as well, but they are still treated like the animals they are. They rarely jump the height they do in competition and have work that challenges their mind more than their body. They still get turnout, and often after shows like such they get breaks for weeks and even 1+ months. They are treated their weights worth in gold and if they were being abused you could tell. They’re not being used, they are being worked with. They would make it much more obvious if they were in pain or didn’t like their job.

I agree. Some of the equestrian world is discusting, (pardon my bad spelling) for example some big lick. However, these horses are extremely strong and the riders do have to be rough in order to handle their horses. I doubt they are abused, but what some horse have dealt with is so sad. 😢
