Vickers in one of his signature roles that few, if any, have equaled since in terms of memorable timbre & moving eloquence. Some of the others in the cast here are variable but its great to hear Franz Crass as a supremely sonorous Rocco. He is my choice for the most beautiful German bass voice during this time. Too bad that hearing difficulties curtailed his career all too soon.
