Cool! I love seeing how different types of mediums or media are made. Thanks for returning to YT for a change of scenery.

I truly appreciate it. Also because I can then easily lift the pot up and check the thickness to see if I can shape the outside just a little bit more, for example.

I'm so pleased that you found this video! I had forgotten it was here, to be honest. But you have proved that I did right in leaving it. I'm so glad you found it helpful!

Awesome! Yup it's amazing what happens when you post things and forget about them! Would it be ok if we share it on our website (in a "videos by potters" section)?

+Giffin Grip I would be honored to have my video included. You can add this comment from me, if you like: Summer of 2016 and I still have that first Giffin grip and use it always when turning my pieces. This thing is indestructable. One of the (if not THE) best investment(s) I have made for my workshop!

Um, this is pretty much the best comment we could hope for... Thank you

Never heard of a Giffen Grip. I guess you learn something new every day, even if it's about eight months late :)

Hi Minni! Good to "see" you too! If you want more of my pottery, just pop over to LV. I posted 2 more videos there today.

Sadly, yes, it is more expensive than you would expect a few bits of plastic, metal and rubber to be. You might check E-bay for a used, one, though. They are very solidly made, so not easy to wreck it, even with lots of use.

Very interesting, but is it very expensive?

And thank you for saying so :-)

LOL! I've posted this both places, but I don't think Simon goes over there, so I kinda had to post it here ;-P Go watch Simon's videos. Even if you don't do pottery, he really explains things well, so you can see more of what has happened to the pottery you see around you. Good to see you, Ken!

Hadn't thought of that! But you are right! Now I won't be able to NOT think of that! Hehe!

The only thing that's wrong with your grip is that it isn't sitting flat down on your wheel head. When you fix that, I am sure you will be much happier with it :-)
