Small schoolhouses are still the way of the Amish and plain Mennonite. God bless your school and the lives it is molding.

The thing is kind of possible. I mostly want these kinds of smaller schools to come back. Bc I feel school should be walkable distances for kids at in the primary/elementary ages pre k through 5/8 3 to 11/14. I'm not even saying they have to be one roomed schools. See what I would do to convert houses in each neighborhood into a school house. Neighborhood schools offer options like homeschool hybrids. Neighborhood schools may be in apartment complexes so they don't have to stand alone. I saw an Alaskan town that all basically lived in an apartment complex that was pretty. They had school, town hall etc within the building. (And they grew their own food). Neighborhood schools don't have to be big fancy buildings they just have a part of the community they're in. They can be in cities, suburbs, or rural areas.

The alternative isn’t wrong just different. If homesteading families want to run their school more power to them. They have good ideas. Just don’t tramp on traditional schools because they are also great options. 😊❤️
@thegoodfight4262 жыл бұрын
@@kerrylynnparsons9441 Public schools are great in theory. If you have your child in an environment that shares your goals and beliefs it would be a beautiful picture of a community working together for the good of all, but when that community or school teach goals and beliefs contrary to yours, it becomes a stumbling block to our children. There is only one truth and we have to have the faith to walk the road less traveled to achieve the transformation of mind we want to see in our children. No one is going to care more for your child's development and well-being than the child's parent, in most cases. I have seen, first hand, the best of school districts, overlook incidences in need of dire attention in order to maintain their A+ appearance. The pursuit of funding and maintaining an image of success, proceed the needs and goals of the individual souls they are instructing each day. Removing God from our institutions removes truth and substance. As an A+ student of public education myself, I've had to spend many years being renewed in the spirit of my mind. I'm having to relearn everything I thought I knew like a little child. Godless institutions will never produce the Godliness and contentment in our children that we are looking for.
@kerrylynnparsons94412 жыл бұрын
@@thegoodfight426 As a former teacher of 35 years, I can say that I bought children shoes, coats, socks, lunch containers, books, etc. There were children I taught who had special talents and I paid for guitar lessons, art lessons, voice lessons, and activity clubs. I supplied children with school supplies to level the playing fields. All of this in addition to teaching them rich curriculum content. My students planted and harvested vegetable gardens in the school playground. The only barriers I ever encountered were from parents who didn’t want their children to learn more than them. Not every child’s needs are the same as their parents’’ needs. The goal of education is to teach children to become independent lifelong learners to live in a global world. Many of my parents over the years had NO IDEA of special skills their children had. Sometimes the children didn’t even know. As a teacher I nurtured the talents of all children. The best thing a parent can have is an open mind. Schools are not Godless; they are schools. Parents instruct their children in Godliness in the home. If they do it correctly then there should be no fear. Think about that.

I’ve been trying to decide how to educate my future children lately, since I understand the importance of education. I’m not settled yet, but for now I’m considering a hybrid model of public school and homeschooling. If parents were more active in the education of their children we wouldn’t have the issues we have right now. We need to teach parents how to actively education their children, there are many ways to do this.

Your school is more like an adventure for the students than a regimented experience. And having the land around the school where there can be activities such as gardening and walking over the land and learning about animals. I wonder if there are musical activities. I recently learned about a really neat percussion instrument called a steel tongue drum which is played with rubber mallets and can be played with finger pads. I sent one to my grandson who is 8 for Christmas. Then, I decided to purchase one for myself. I think the kids at your school would love to play them. There are varying prices. I can envision them taking them outside in a shady area and experimenting with their calming sounds. There are SO many ways to make education FUN and EXCITING! It appears that those two elements are definitely part of what the students at your school are experiencing! That's GREAT!!!

Motivation is great for the soul. God bless. From a drafted, disabled, and Republic of South Vietnam combat veteran '68. I was a certified Texas high school composite social studies teacher for my last 15 years before retirement. I taught at-risk students and many pregnant girls not having abortions. School board members get mandated training via federal regulations. In my opinion, it's not good. Teachers are given a Godless curriculum and cannot deviate. I did teach geography for 2 years at a predominantly black high school '95 and '96 in Fort Worth. I had 45 students in each of 5 classes. The school never played our National Athem, but played the Black Anthem. We had USA congressman visit like John Lewis too.

My daughter and her husband pulled their kids out of public school two years ago. We have supported them along the way. It was the BEST decision they have ever made regarding their education. Our grandchildren have flourished in their gifting of music. My advice - do not try to mimic public schools, or private schools for that matter. Those are failing systems. Our children is our future.
