That Head of Youth Development is literally the perfect assistant manager. Might be worth promoting him and getting a HOYD with better working with youngster stats.

a load of the youth prospects have terrible personalities, so they'll struggle to develop. Rossetti, Volpi, paparella, foggetti, etc.. Prioritizing loan moves once they turn 17 or 18 is the only way i've found to develop players like these.
@StingerNeilD11 сағат бұрын
See I don't delve into this under the hood stuff but if it's right then how rubbish is it that players prospects are so determined by their personality over everything else
@camerondavisslag10 сағат бұрын
@@StingerNeilD the thing that drives me mad about it is that it's random which prospects get the right personalities. i've had 20 year saves where the only staff i've hired have had model citizen personalities. and still you'll get prospects with unambitious, temperamental, fickle, low determination, slack, casual, etc. personalities. i guess it's realistic ultimately (how many footballers with all the potential in the world end up never making it, e.g. ravel morrison vs gritty guys like jamie vardy), but not being able to influence it consistently is a bit maddening
@mw5610110 сағат бұрын
@@StingerNeilDit's kind of true to real life though, players with poor personalities do tend to develop worse. Look at someone like Ravel Morrison, Andy Carroll etc All talented but ultimately couldn't cut it
@Murtini20234 сағат бұрын
@@camerondavisslag Yep this proper infuriates me too. I've found hiring a HOYD with lower attributes for what they do (working with youngsters, judging PA/CA) but them having an amazing personality (model citizen ideally) and unflappable media handling can work better. Also them having "attacking" mentality helps as well, no idea why. In saying that, despite signing 19 players in my latest intake. 5 of them had rubbish personalities. So I think it's impossible to completely get rid of it sadly.
@vangeliskastanas10 сағат бұрын
Hey Neil, do you check the personality of the youth players and their determination rating when deciding who to keep in the squad? Rosseti for example has a determination of 4. Is he gonna develop enough?
@StingerNeilD10 сағат бұрын
I don't to be honest. I like to lose myself in this world and hope things like determination level won't factor in as much as they undoubtedly do. I think it's a shame that personality takes such a high importance. I am hoping I can get good players out of them regardless
@vangeliskastanas10 сағат бұрын
@@StingerNeilD Do you suggest that as well? Do you have any examples of great players that are unambitious coming from the youth ranks?

I'm really curious to see what's going to happen with this new crop of youngsters. We're starting to get to the point where the original Chosen Ones will start retiring or those "injury ridden" players will start losing their abilities.

True, it's 10 seasons in the original boys are clocking time

You could try a 3-4-1-2 where you use two ball playing defenders and a Central Defender. On the wings use parejo as a winger on the left and use someone suitable as an inside forward and in the midfield you could use Luati as a ball winning midfielder and sulaj as an advanced playmaker then at the front pair use a poacher and complete forward combination with a second striker behind them to support.

A nice suggestion, current tactic has started well but I'll keep this in mind

You talk about height a lot with defenders, but I was under the assumption that height doesn’t matter at all in FM and that jumping is the only thing to consider?
@StingerNeilD7 сағат бұрын
Well I'm not prepared to go with a 5'9 CB with 20 Jumping reach over a 6'2 one with 10 jumping reach. But I'm not the guy for all that. I like to play the game like real life, I don't really care about all the exploit stuff dude

you could re-train them, but what if their PA is say, 120? or do you not worry about that, as long as they do a job? im not criticizing mate, just asking. always looking to broaden my fm knowledge

Yep, don't worry about it. I like to play this game with things I can see. I can see his attributes - good enough for me.

It is getting exciting with the youth players coming through hopefully a few new chosen ones to pick potentially. Totally agree with the 343 that right wing back is elite. Keep it up and get the conference league won 🎉
