"The Fleetwood town issue" I had something similar on fifa on the psp, after every season the team that finished bottom in the prem was relegated but also stayed in the prem, at 1 point I had 4 Newcastles, 4 Middlesbrough and 3 of another team. So some of the players played over 120 games a season.

I regularly play FM with Excel. I set up a blocks of cells arranged for each position on the field, list any player who can reasonable play that position, and the 5 or 6 attributes that I find the most important for that position. Then I use conditional formatting to color in the attributes and create my depth chart from there. It's fun to see what my "real" depth chart is without using star ratings, and to see how my players' attributes go up and down over time (I update at each transfer window). For lower/smaller leagues, it also lets you find players who secretly can play other positions based on their attributes, and train them in the new position.
