Very nostalgic sound for me, grew up right around the time Gevos were introduced so I heard this tons growing up, miss the old K5Hs now we have junky RL K5HLs.

That's a pretty cool K5H! I take it this is a round tag one based on the sound? It sounds very similar to that of a hybrid K5LA you might find on Amtrak Acelas, but with that signature K5H aggression. ;)

Per usual the last 18 sec was my favorite, when the Doppler Effect is doing the Doppler things. Never heard one of these before....it's very pleasantly pleasing! Early K5HL is still my favorite but I'd say this is a close second.

Excellent! Could this be one of Swanson's very first K5s that were used on the BC Rail, PGE, BC Electric, CP, Great Northern, ETC? It sounds like the ones he demonstrated in his horn speech from the 70s. It also sounds like the voice of the Acela Express!!

Maybe this is a dumb question but I have a K5HLA that I'm currently working on. Are you able to paint the horn for me? Its already disassembled and has been previously worked on by me however I live in an apartment complex and its difficult to paint myself withour getting into too much trouble

Do you daily drive with a horn on top? Ive got a basic K3LA setup on my 21 Silverado with a toolbox setup similar to yours. Thinking of getting the headache rack and putting it on top. What do casual ongoers think of it?

No the rack is just used for running horns for my videos. I have a dedicated K5 under the truck that’s permanently mounted

Sounds like a hybrid k5HA (1,2,3a,4,5) I'm curious what the bore depth of the "straight 4" is, because it definitely sounds like a 4a to me. Nice sounding
