I just learned something from you! NEVER shall I attempt to upholster anything more complicated than a dining chair seat.

Looking so good. Don’t be so hard on yourself. To me it looks pretty perfect 👍I must say, I like the seat cushion right side up better, but the trimming in this dark fabric is gorgeous 👏

You do a really great job! Just an idea: what if you painted the wood on the chair a rich chocolate brown. The current color is reading very yellow and kind of clashes with that gorgeous fabric you chose.
@MaileyElaine
@MaileyElaine 2 ай бұрын
I totally had the same idea. I really think a dark stain would fit the fabric. I just have to figure out away to strip the current stain without damaging the carved design. I wouldn't want to paint since it is really wood. Thank so much for watching! 🥰

Super pretty! I got two vintage chairs I want to reupholster but I am so scared. Also, I have no tools at all. I feel like this chair will look so good with a dark wood
@MaileyElaine
@MaileyElaine 2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! You could totally do it whatever style of chair they are, there are tons of straight tutorials on KZbin to help you out. And I agree I'm just not sure how to make it dark without ruining the details.

Wow, that came out really good! I'm super impressed with how you were able to get all the lines to flow properly. Since you now know that is a high end piece of furniture, do you reattach the brand name tags? Also I am curious to know if those charcuterie boards and cutting boards in your sewing room are pieces you made yourself? Thank you for your awesome content, you are a woman of many talents! 😎😊
@MaileyElaine
@MaileyElaine 2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much that was the hardest part about getting each panel attached. The lines would instantly start to go in all different directions is was very frustrating haha. I actually did say the tag and reattached it with some fabric glue. I don't think you have to but I just wanted to since it is a nice brand. and no all of those were store bought I collected them slowly over a few months from different stores. None of the are expensive boards. Ikea, Target, Homegoods places like that. and than you so much I'm so glad you like my content that means a lot! 🥰

I think you did a really great job, it looks so good. It’s a complicated pattern to work with. Do you think you will change the stain of the wooden parts of the chair or keep it as is?
@MaileyElaine
@MaileyElaine 2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! I would like to change the stain just a bit darker but I have to figure out how to do that without damaging the details and also without ruining the upholstery or getting stuff on it.
@MelMc188
@MelMc188 2 ай бұрын
@@MaileyElaine I was thinking it would look even better with a darker stain, but the lighter stain is nice too. Mixing wood can be really cool in a room, so staying light works too.
