This is a reupload as the original video got copyright claimed 2 weeks after release and we were forced to mute the entire reaction portion of the video, as show on the image at the start of this video. Which would've made the video about 28 minutes of silence with us talking at the start and end. In 1955, Marty was able to outwit Biff Tannen by improvising a skateboard. In 2015, Marty was able to outwit Griff Tannen by borrowing a hoverboard. But in _1885,_ Marty was _utterly_ unable to find _anything_ he could use for a skateboard and he had to be rescued by Doc.

Well I guess they didn't want to make it too predictable, as seen by the failure of Doc and Clara to catch the Delorean near the end of the movie. However Doc could have easily written a letter to one of his future selves and asked them to send a time machine back for him to use. The third movie was more about Doc.

It's not that he hated the role. It's that he was hired to play a family of villains and he knocked it out of the park making them as nasty as he could. He's a good guy in real life. It's like the actor for Voldemort, who also played Pharaoh in The Prince of Egypt, and played one of the main Nazis in Schindler's list. Sometimes you just get good at being bad.

Fun fact - the guy who challenges Marty to the race at the end of the film is called 'Needles'... the same 'Needles' that 2015 Marty talked to on video-chat in BTTF 2 and got 2015 Marty fired. In both movies, the character was played by an actor named 'Flea', who also happens to be the base player for the real-world rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers!

@CineBinge React, to clarify your question about pull cords stopping trains, back in the day, a rider could manually stop the train, at least partially, since the pull cord used to actually be connected to the train equivilant of an emergency brake for that specific car. While not enough to stop a whole train like shown in the movie, the sudden jolt would be enough to notify the conductor to apply the main brakes and stop the train.

These still exist! Well maybe not in the US, but where I live in Europe trains still have these. It's not as simple as "you pull the lever and it stops", if the train is already going over a certain speed the conductor has the option to override it. But either way, it immediately notifies the conductor of an emergency (and where in the train it was pulled) and makes a call so you can talk to them and explain what's going on. If, for example, you made it onto the train, but your dog is still on the platform and the door closed around the leash. Then you pull the emergency brake so the dog doesn't get dragged to death.

Sorry dude but that’s the wrong movie. It was in the first Eastwood/Leone movie, a fistful of dollars. A small bit of this movie is shown in BTTF2 when biff is in the hot tub with the ladies. The movie the Good, the bad and the ugly was Leone and Eastwood’s third spaghetti western. It’s the best known.

Oh, yes, "The Howdy Doody Show" was very popular. Howdy himself was a marionette and the host, but he had some human characters on as well, such as Cowboy Bob, Princess Winterspring Summerfall, and Clarabell the Clown. His child-filled studio audience were called "The Peanut Gallery."

The second movie was supposed to be chaotic. It was the not knowing how much you can mess things with time traveling. Going back and forth and just making it worse. The alternate timelines and all of that. Doc's drawing on the board explained that pretty well. It was really well done.

It's a corporate mindset. The studios might not even care, but they have to be seen to be doing something anyway so as to not look weak to the competition. It's stupid becasue watching an edited reaction video is absolutely nothing like sitting down to the actual full movie, and most folk will own a copy anyway.

I know I'm a bit late... but Thomas F. Wilson, who plays the Tannen family, has a stand-up special on KZbin where he talks about his career and being in these films. It's well worth your time. The guy is honestly funny and kind, and honestly deserved more from the film industry.

Umm, he still needs to be able to reverse engineer stuff, and with equipment back in 1885, probably impossible. I think a more reasonable assumption would be he sent letters to his future self.

In the meantime, he rebuilt the time circuits as best he could and when the parts were available, moved the train into the future, got a hover conversion and came back to see Marty and Jennifer on the bridge over Eastwood Ravine....

If one were to be suffering from a type of liver disease, Jaundice would occur or a yellowing of the skin could be seen. As such, referring to someone as yellow-bellied plays on the idea of a sick liver, thus implying a lack of courage. An alternative term with the same meaning is "lily livered".

When you see the scenes in the saloon, that group of fellas sitting at the table and the barkeep are all fairly well known character actors who appeared in a great many westerns of the 60's and 70's. So when this film was in the theaters, seeing them all sitting around in the saloon seemed both funny and quite natural. Especially in the scene where they tell him that his actions will mean the name of Clint Eastwood will be known as a coward forever. hahahaha One of the guys at the table was Slim Pickens, whom you have also seen in Dr. Strangelove (1964) in the famous shot of him climbing onto a bomb.

In medieval times the liver organ was erroneously thought to be where courage came from, this is the same set of thought from that period that the human heart was the source of love which we still carry that notion today

Yellow bellied came from birds - like the yellow bellied sap sucker (which is actually the original insult), or the chicken which has yellow parts ( and why people started calling cowards a "chicken", because yellow-bellied evolved into that and was wider known), and those animals being easily spooked - or - cowardly. Lily-livered is actually from MacBeth - Lilies being white in color. The liver is generally a dark-reddish brown and was, supposedly, a seat of love and passion and passion gives you strength (because of the color - you know, red, the color of love?) A lily liver is one that is white, as in, bloodless, as in - you have no passion or strength, you're a coward with a white liver.

Fargo began their careers in the middle of 19th century as America as a transportation and payment system connecting California (state in 1949) to rest of United States. Where Trains and canals did not exists, stagecoaches interconnected communities and economies. Wells Fargo operated their stagecoach lines until early 20th century. There's always an emergency stop button on a train, it used to be a cable like the one in the film, I don't know if there's still trains around that use that system, but when I was younger that system was still around in some trains. Usually you can get fined if you pull it without good reason.

Yep, and the car dealership in the 80's is Statler Toyota, in the 50's you see a Statler Studebaker dealer. and in the 1880's it's 'Honest Joe Statler Fine Horses,' which is where Clara's horse and carriage was rented from, hence Doc saying he'll sort things out with Joe Statler.

Yeah copyright stuff is hella bureaucratic, though I think one main thing copyright holders are worried about is if they don't claim copyright on some things someone who breaks copyright can then point to all of the times the copyright holder let it slide as a defence. I think a bunch of the copyright regarding the audio is things like the soundtrack.

So, one of the cartoon shows that I grew up with was the Back to the Future series, which is after the third movie, and the family (with Marty) gets to bebop around through time on the train. It is pretty awesome.

Here's a thinker: Maybe the reason Doc Brown taped up the letter that saves his life at the end of the first movie because he realizes that whatever catastrophe Marty was trying to warn him about was averted-- and the only way to preserve _that_ timeline would be to pull the torn-up letter out of his coat pocket and reconstruct it by the time 1985 rolls around.

There have been stories at conventions Thomas has shared where he was doing the assault scene in the car with Leah Thompson (Lorraine/Marty's mom) and would be done with the take and apologize and make sure she's OK, just for her to reassure him that "It's ok, it's acting." The two of them are actually good friends to this day and Thomas is a legitimately sweet guy.

Michael J. Fox about died in one of the noose scene takes at 08:08 - Basically he was tired after many attempts to shoot the scene and he didn't get his hands between the rope and his neck in time like he does properly at 08:11 on the closeup, so he was literally being choked and had to be brought back from being out for a while. He was choked for 30 seconds straight and it took the crew a bit to figure out what was going on.

This is my favorite film in the trilogy. I just love the setting and the 1885 cast of characters. Plus, the McFly ancestors in this one are just really wholesome instead of horny. 👍 The ending is just so satisfying! 😁

To your question about how trains work. Around that time there was a safety measure called an emergency break. It was a wire connected with the locomotive and if one pulled it (in case of an emergency) the train stopped instantly. The emergency break is still on modern trains today. It’s these red levers you can find on every end of a train car (Or in some cases right next to every door).

"Great Scott" is a saying that predates Back to the Future by about 100 years. It gained popularity in the late 1800s and was still in fairly common use in the 1980s. Now it is considered out of fashion. I have to ask, have you never hard of Howdy Doody? I wasn't alive when it was popular but it's ingrained in American culture.

I think people prefer more than 1 reactor. Double the reaction, people notice and react to different things, and you two play off each other well. You should have your thumbnails reflect that so people know you’re more than one reactor. Might bring a couple more people into a good channel

Of all the wonderful things, I don't know why people don't mention and love Marty's sister - "You wore that to the lake?". She's so hilariously deadpan, and had been from the start. I love her.
