Though this is late, I think they mentioned simulation during a video, so the fights are just computer generated, which would explain why some are in 3D and others are sprites...but that also gives me the funny image of the two characters watching their fight play out on a big screen while eating popcorn or whatever.

God's Little Princess I don't feel the same, I feel like it's a bit to ridiculous. And any way they already mentioned in one of their videos that have them sitting in a room explaining the Deathbattle that the big computer in the background is used b weez and boom stick to pull the fighters from different worlds to fight. However if you like that head cannon that's ok, I just personally think that clones are a bit of a cop out and makes the fight seem irrelevant and anti climactic.
