Hi Charlie came across your channel about a month ago and I absolutely love it mate❤ Right here we go …… You can be put in prison by a Magistrate for any offence that carries a maximum sentence of no more than 6 months. If you go to a Magistrate and your offence carries a sentence more than a maximum sentence of 6 months then they will always refer you to a magistrates court. You will always be asked by a magistrate if you have committed a crime that is 6 months or under if you want to be dealt with by them or go to trial at a Crown Court. So then it’s up to you, but if you are found guilty in your Crown Court trial because you’ve obviously pleaded not guilty, you could end up getting a much longer sentence than 6 months, even if the maximum sentence for the crime is 6 months, as that all goes out the window if you yourself elect to go to Crown court. Most people never elect to go to Crown Court. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 And no I’m not a criminal I’ve studied Law and Criminology & Forensic Psychology for about 40 years, and know just as much as a Barrister does ! I’m not bragging Charlie it’s just a fact.

Yeah the auto braking can be crazy. I had a Honda rental car when I last visited the UK and it slammed the brakes on while I was changing lanes on the roundabout because it thought I was going to crash as I was passing someone. King Charles - the VW lane assist is ridiculous! Just bought a new VW Taigo. Looks like a lovely safe family car to take my lovely daughters from a - b (so I thought) Little did I know, that when trying to pass parked cars that are legally parked on the road, and I have to slightly go over the white line, again, a very safe manoeuvre… that the car would try and yank the steering wheel to the left, and smash me into the parked cars. 3 times in a week this happened. However, I found out you can turn it off. And off it went! Never to be turned on again!

"all these helps" From lane assist to sat nav to contactless payments. They all make us more vulnerable & dependant and less able to cope if/when we have any electrical/comms downtime. The panic that would ensue just from a couple of hours downtime on a normal weekday & it's repercussions would be quite something.

Charlie I totally agree with you 100% that the person who is driving a car should have control over it and shouldn’t rely on AI l. I feel that the technology still needs a lot more improvements and testing before it can be considered perfected and im surprised that vehicle manufacturers would even consider putting an unfinished and unsafe experimental AI in to todays vehicles when they are clearly not ready to be installed yet and that they are rushing to put them On the road. These are serious issues that can cause unnecessary deaths or injuries and im starting to wonder and wouldn’t be surprised if that has already happened.

All these new fangled *DRIVER ASSIST FEATURES* All they seem to do is protect you, the driver, at the cost of everybody else's safety. It reminds me of an old test question. *"You are driving along an empty road, with no cars behind you, or in front of you. And none on the opposite side of the road.* *And somebody steps off the footpath and in front of your vehicle. Well inside of your possible braking distance"* What do you do??? We've got a new Hyundai Tucson and that has Lane control and steering assist park assist, all that garbage and it's all about passing the ENCAP regulations and attaining 5 stars for safety, every other car manufacturer has 5 stars so they have to get 5 to compete, and its easier to fill it up with electronic driver aids, than it is to build a structurally Strong Vehicle? so that's how they go, fill it with Air bags, Driver aids, and all the gubbins, and get 5 stars It takes me 5mins of pre flight checks turning everything off, before moving in the car, but you have to do it each time the key is removed, as it resets itself when turned off
