Congrats on 5k. You're so much fun to watch with; well deserved. This movie was a whole-ass mess but still fun at times. Gotta love them campy horror movies lol.

The 'I will not be keeping this energy' tag had me laughing cause I know how Roger gets 😅 Love Night of the Demons! Roger running around like Shaggy cracks me up 🤣🤣🤣 My man said "They ain't gonna get me!", noped out, got trapped, comes back, doesn't get possessed, saves Judy and still survives! That's an incredible feat for anyone in a horror, but Roger being the only black character and surviving gives a middle finger to the trope in the best ways.

"Running around like Shaggy" 😂😂😂 That is so hilariously accurate! When Roger started climbing up that barb wire, I was done!!! 😂😂

Girl, you want a real good horror, something that's going to top this? I recommend the film " The people under the stairs" from year 1991.

Loved your reaction to this! I used to be so scared of this movie as a kid too, but it definitely loses that factor when you watch it as an adult! Gotta love 80s horror movies when all you needed were jump scares and gore and logical plots weren’t necessary 😂. I was always glad Roger made it to the end, but I did also hate how much of a punk he was! And I’ll always feel bad for poor Sal, because he was like the only person who even tried helping the others. Despite all that, it’s still such a fun watch. As for recommendations, you should do “Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight” with Jada Pickett Smith and Billy Zane for one of your Fridays! It’s a much better “demon” movie than this one!

This movie made history as it was the 1st horror film where the black man is the hero and he survives
@wiseguy012 ай бұрын
not really, Day of The Dead, and Dawn of The Dead both had black male leads that survived and came before this. Night of The Living Dead also has a black male lead. Romero's Dead trilogy really contributed a bit to black male leads who weren't in exploitation films or otherwise stereotyped.
@themadnucleus1012 ай бұрын
@wiseguy01 none of them survived and was the hero it was either or this was the 1st time I've seen a black man as the hero and he survived it but he wasn't the lead
@wiseguy012 ай бұрын
@@themadnucleus101 yes the lead black male characters in both Dawn of The Dead and Day of The Dead both lived. You can watch those movies on KZbin for free right now. They were all the heroes and two of them saved the lady in distress. In fact Night of The Living Dead is known for casting a black man as the lead during a time when this wasn't common. I don't think you've seen those films.

I did like the fact that this movie was trying to give us a female killer, to stand with Jason, Chucky, Michael and all of them. Also, Last year I was Angela for Halloween, I made the dress and the crown from cosplay clay and an old wedding dress sewing pattern with added editions and alterations to match the gown from the movie. Guess who won a 50 dollar gift card, a cute little basket of spa brand lotions, soaps, body wash etc. lol! It may have not been a huge gift prize but that 50 dollar gift card helped, and the bath bombs in that kit had some sort of bubble bath powder mix so I celebrated my victory with a glittery bubble bath of metallic blue colors and a glass of wine lol.

I'd really love to see this on the big screen in a theatre full of our people. Been to many screenings but nothing beats a black audience experience, only the kung fu audience comes close but they took that from us. We were the original reactors commentating throughout the movie. People delivered some classic one liners or general comments that i still remember to this day especially when i first watched pulp fiction and the cinema had a lot of our people in it making a comment which was controversial back then when sammy l drunk the other guy's soda, and this was in the uk. Can only imagine if our people saw this at the big screen as its a film that needs recognition for rodger's sake.

Thats the suckie thing about those retro movies, we used to get them based off the covers sometimes and it we would get bamboozled. No judgement on you those movies were always bad, but still worth the watch because like you said we were kids we didn't care lol.
