@@jvstzwolfyz594 I haven't really followed it yet, but, given the 1 volume I have read of it, there was quite a bit of fanservice in arc 2 which shouldn't have fanservice at all. For example: at that scene where subaru is doing morning exercises with emilia, there is a panel where she is stretching and it is very clearly is focusing on her armpits and legs and with her sweating and blushing and all that delightfull stuff. Also I will not say the artist is making the characters "bigger" but he definitely puts a lot more of detail on cleavage making it more noticeable. But to be fair a lot of the LN illustrations have the clothes gripping inexplicably tight to the character's body showing off their silhouette under it, specially on the legs. So I guess re:zero is supposed to have much more of these "subtle fanservices". But willingly choose to leave it to the side in the anime since it would just look weird and off putting in a animated way, also it looks better to the mainstream audiences and theirs oh so sensible sensibilities.

Anyone who read Re:Zero knows Subaru would sooner accept death than accept a broken Emilia who only lets him bed her out of debt, being broken, or other such lows in her life. If he knows she only loves him because she's at her lowest, that's a turn-off for Subaru as evidenced by his actions. He knows how miserable and pitiful that sort of _love_ is. Could you even call it love? Even if one day he does bed Emilia, he wants it to be through mutual love, respect and consent. That's the whole point of their last kiss in Arc 4 and final pillow in Arc 3, to symbolize he won't force her into anything she objects to, and wants her to eventually choose him of her own accord, no abuse. Arc 5 and 6 further emphasize this as well, even 7 does. I've said "I swear, I'll fucking kill you 🗿" to my friends at times, but nobody takes it seriously and we both laugh. Why? Because both parties know that I don't mean what I say and context matters, it's exaggerated for comedic effect in the moment. I'd lay my life on the line for my closest friends if it came down to it, and I know they'd do the same.

Definetely some questionable choices with design, but I feel like a decent bit of it can be explained away (like the Shudraq's clothing based on the environment). Something that I can respect the author, is that despite the fact that he really likes fanservice and typical perverted cliches of isekais, he held back to make rezero light novel and anime a work with a much higher quality, deeper and more empathetic characters, when he could have easily made something like Mushuko full of fanservice all over the place, but holding back that really increased the quality of the work

Ignoring the fanservice, sexual harassment, lack of personal growth, and misogyny, I can't deny that Mushuko is a good isekai anime worth watching (At least for their animationa and music), so I tried to watch it only to almost vomit in disgust. At least in other works the fanservice is made funny when the girl hits the boy very violently back or the boy's acts are the work of bad luck and not bad intentions, but Mushuko seems to truly celebrate sexual harassment, misogyny, and sexual exploitation in minors... The reason why fanservice exists in the first place is nothing more and nothing less than to make easy money (Like porn), without the need for the plot or characters or story to be good or character development or quality writing, and even if Mushuko is a good anime, in terms of character development it feels like a story for incels and misogists... And it doesn't improve that their community there are a large number of incels defending each of the actions of the protagonist or the father of the protagonist in fact (one literally told me that the harem should be mandatory to preserve the population, as if we did not have overpopulation), and I'm not stupid, I know those people were just cyberbullies looking for attention, but it doesn't take away from the fact that Mushuko seeks for "a certain type of audience" and doesn't invite others to enjoy this work without you having to give up many of your moral principles or dignity (Basically it is a "club for boys" or "incels"). And for me that lowers the quality of the work a lot, not to say that it feels like a personal attack, so I've already given up on seeing it. If you enjoy it without taking the fanservice or incel attitude seriously, I'm happy for you, keep enjoying what you like as long as you don't harass anyone, have a good day.

1. Emilia CLEARLY doesn't know what "Mwahaha" "fuhfuhfuhfuh", "umph-umph" are, beyond being sounds. She also doesn't know what making whoopie is. Remember, in Arc 5, it's established she doesn't know what a virgin is, which would mean she doesn't know what sex is either. Puck never taught her these things. The damage to Elsa's body also did damage to her clothing as well, & Meili tending to her wounds isn't inherently sexual unless you see it that way. Of course, it could be argued that the "Assassin Sisters' Diary" could be fan service, considering it might not have been published if they weren't so popular. At the same time, Tappei has a lot of side content that might not appeal to those who aren't interested in the supporting characters, or events that aren't immediately relevant to the main story. 4. That's Subaru's speculation. I wouldn't call it fan service. 5. OK. That might be fan service. 6. That's not fan service. That's just wrong. No one likes that. 7. OK. That's fan service, albeit warped. 8. Yeah. That's probably fan service. I think it's kind of funny. I don't know if a spirit can get wet or dirty, or have their appearance ruined in any way. Concept art often does this to get a grasp on what the character looks like in various states of dress in order to portray how various outfits would move on them, etc. It's not fan service. Most of this isn't fan service, & a great deal of it has narrative precedent, even if it doesn't make the cut. Also, why are you only ranking things that men & boys consider sexual. Why not narrative events that fans have been rooting for, like Emilia's fight scenes with high profile (& high powered) characters & other match ups we've wanted to see, flirting between Felis & Julius (in EX Vol. 4), Reinhard vs. Cecils Segmund (also in EX Vol. 4), Natsumi Schwartz, etc. I wouldn't necessarily call them fan service either, especially considering there's narrative precedent behind most of it, but still.

You already made a video about it if I'm not mistaken, but of course there's the scene in arc 3 where Priscilla offers to let Subaru fondle her chest if he won that appa guessing game, which Subaru never fulfilled. 2). At some point in arc 2 in the wn, Subaru sees Beatrice's underwear (I forget how) and exclaims "they're white!" similar to how it went down with Emilia, which promptly gets him blasted out of the forbidden library. I try to make myself believe that the anime is the “real story” even though it has A LOT of cut content from the L/W novels and those are technically the real story but I believe the reason why the anime is cut a lot of it’s original content is because the company that makes it really cares about it and want to make a “better story” out of it by marking Subaru a better character including all the other characters. I can’t tell if I’ll love the anime as much as I do now if it has all of the original content or not.

The real story aka canon is the Light Novels which the anime adapts. So don't worry, the things shown in the video are from the WN which is basically a draft and lots of things get changed in the LN. Most of the dirty Subaru dialogues in the WN get changed to simple non sexual flirting in the LN and anime.

I think less is more when it comes to fan service. And I'm firmly against the weird type of consensually questionable fan service you see in a lot of anime. Good fan service shouldn't be demeaning or violating in nature. Some of the stuff that was cut made Subaru come off as way more creepy and seem to have really unhealthy power dynamics. The loli stuff is also really weird. They should just sexualize characters who clearly look like adults. I think it goes without saying that sexualizing characters who have a child like appearance is a bad thing.

The amount of people that try to defend that stuff is insane, but yea. Characters like Satella and or shaula are fine, they look like adults. Although I think some of the stuff with how Emilia was willing to have sex with Subaru is best forgotten. I much prefer to keep that away from Emilia, just feels out of place for her character. Well, the fanservice scenes have been toned down, but from arc 5 to arc 7 A LOT of the new female character's designs are just them in bikinis or almost naked, so yeah, the character designs are bad, but no akward scenes later on

Damn there really is more fanservice in the series than I thought. I knew about some of them but not all and alot of them are really wierd and unnecessary. Guess anime esc stories can't escape the anchor of fanservice one way or another. If some scenes made it to the anime the viewers will definitely look at the series in a more bad light since it is wierd. For the best that it was cut and interesting that these kinds of fanservice were put in the series

Or envy? Since she simps for Subaru but even then it just feels a little out of place. Then they increase Echidnas bust size but reduce Emilias in the blue ray? Whats even the point of that. I mean why bother increasing Echidnas then? Regardless I'm glad a lot of this stuff was removed from the anime, likely would have had a much harder time trying to get into it. It was already hard enough. Emilia is better off how she is now rather than how she was depicted at the 3:30 mark. Although I'm pretty sure they gave that part of her..... personality to shaula which actually fits better.

What I meant was the loli thing (typhoon and beatrice) and also the Emilia thing (sexual harassment treat). Things like that take out the value of the redeeming of Subaru and also it's just straight up gross. The argument "it's fictional" only servers to justify it not being a crime, but being fictional does not take away the fact that these things are detrimental do Tappei's work.

The author's intention before was to have a protagonist in that way where he was changing in each arc, but we realize that the author and maybe an editor eliminated that because it really didn't feel like it added anything and was just gratuitous.

I knew about a couple of these but man I am glad I never read the Arc 1-3 WN. I just transitioned to arc 4 after LN Vol 9 and seems like I missed a whole bunch of trashy fan service. At least Tappei seems to be better about it now. Definitely still get some fan service but its much better handled.
