Natsuki Subaru is Natsuki Subaru!!! It's great seeing that you've picked up on this. There's a worry that Yen Press could translate content from the next volume incorrectly, which could make readers (Including you) fall for what may be the most common misconception in the series, so much so that a *large majority* of readers still believe it's true. Thus, although I won't spoil anything, please don't forget to keep what you already know in mind as you read Volume 25's early chapters! By the way (15:53), since they speak Japanese in RZ's world, Lye is supposed to be using the English words from Subaru's memories. I believe the part you're talking about is the one in Section 3 of Chapter 4 where Lye calls himself an "intellectual Sin Archbishop", with him using the English loan word "interi", which can be shorthand for "intellectual" among a couple of other things. Since I haven't read YP's Volume 24 translation, I'm not sure if IQ was used there or not.

That makes a lot more sense! On the YP translation he says "We're a high-IQ Archbishop, after all!" (page 135 for those interested). I understand what he means, but it's such a jarring expression for him to use it stood out to me

@@OverlordDio Gosh, he _does_ sound like a Redditor. There will be many more instances where Lye (And mayhaps the other two as well? 🤔) use(s) English in Volume 25. If some of the later phrases he says sound fishy, it may be attributed to this. I guess having knowledge of such new ideas and words he hadn't comprehended before is revolutionizing for him, because he _really_ likes using them frequently.

@@mrahhal Sure. You'll have to click "read more" to see it described. I can't really be too vague due to the nature of this misconception, but I'll try my best. It's a misconception present in international communities that the amnesiac Subaru was not Subaru, but "another person" all along. Although it may seem like this is the case to a reader upon finishing Chapter 2 of Volume 25 (Corresponding to the end of Chapter 74 of Arc 6 in the WN), the explanation provided in Section 4 of Chapter 3 (Corresponding to Chapter 76 in the WN), in addition to some other past events in the arc that do not make sense with this notion, contradict it.

I can imagine inaccurate translations making it possibly more confusing. I remember writing out my understanding of what actually happened by the end of volume 25 right after I finished it because I knew I will forget unless if I want to have to reread the whole arc again.

i think destroying the trial means that they don't necessarily need Reid's approval to pass, they also win if they somehow manage to kill him (again?). the trial explicitly states that they need to get the approval of the fool who reached the heavily sword. if there is no fool left to approve of them they win

I didn’t think it was that steamy to be honest. I think you were just thinking about what usually comes after that kind of line. Emilia development is just taking backseat to mystery right now and I’m fine with that. I don’t think other characters momentarily getting the spotlight make them out shine her. Some of the awkward things to read definitely felt like just Yenpress and localizers being themselves. It’s sad when I can notice mistakes without being able to know the original source material. We’re also so far behind it’s criminal. I wish they would just let me give them my money

So basically destroying the trials =/ destroying the tower. Meaning one can skip Reid ( Maybe run past him?) or Just kill him without it counting as destruction of the tower. Also the requirement of everyone needing to pass to leave would also be lifted.

@@OverlordDio Just arc 6 but even Yen Press release is still better than the release of WN. Arc 6 is the arc where the author took an very long hiatus to catching up the LN with WN so there was time he only upload 1 or 2 chapters after 9 months or so and the whole arc took 5 years to complete. I have heard many time about the drought of content at that time so Yen Press release in this case is still not the worst

Really? I heard arc 6 wasn’t changed much between version. I heard for 4 it was a TON of cuts, for arc 5 the light novel is better; and for 6 they are close in quality. And 7/8 seem to actually have better LNs
