UPDATE - Thanks to Reddit user JoHien, the issue is the Bloom setting. Disabling Bloom in game will get rid of these flashing artifacts. Personally for me that's getting into the territory of altering the game's intended presentation a little too much, disabling bloom really dulls the lighting in the city unfortunately.
An issue report has been filed on the mod creator's github, they are looking into potential solutions for this.

Resident Evil 3 with the DLSS Upscale REFramework plug-in mod, showcasing the firefly/flashing lightbulb problem in some specular surfaces.
This also has the LODBias configured through Nvidia Profile Inspector, set to -0.500 which this mod recommends. Previously uploaded video inadvertently likely had this set to an incorrect level, leading to excessive flickering which is no longer present. As well, disabling motion blur + lens distortion effects significantly reduces specular edge shimmering while still preserving much of the games intended look. You get the vastly improved clarity of DLSS with minimal side effects.
...except one. As this video shows, there is a bizarre flashbulb-popping effect that occurs on certain wet surfaces with rain/blood, no graphical setting change can alleviate this (*see update). This occurs on the entire RE series using this mod, in 2/7, and Village unfortunately. Hopefully this can be rectified in future versions.

What would be the best option then, using this mod or fsr? I want to olay these titles with RT on but performance is really bad in RE2 and RE3, in 7 and Village the RT runs way better

You'll want to disable motion blur and the lens distortion effects when using this mod as a first step as with those on it will produce artifacts when moving the camera in most scenes, which isn't a big loss anyways as they're of questionable value by themselves. This particular flashing lights problem though has no setting change* that can alleviate it, but it's also far more sporadic, so it's just a question if you can stomach these intermittent scenes when they pop up. *EDIT: See updated video notes. It's Bloom, disable that to get rid of these flashing lights if you want. Personally, while not ideal atm, I still think overall the performance and clarity improvements from this mod as measured against the games as a whole are substantial enough to warrant the use of it. Interlaced mode/FSR don't have this issue, but they also don't look nearly as good in most other scenes either.

@@massivechonk920 Couldn't we run a reshade high quality bloom shader to emulate it back into the game with trivial performance loss ? I feel like that may be a solution ? I'm already running reshade with VRtoolkit to create clarity and sharpness back into the picture, it looks great (and fixes the bad gamma inherent to RE engine).

@@Slaythe The problem with using a bloom reshade is that those can really only enhance existing bright sources, in RE3 with the neon signs for example, there is no excess luminosity applied at all without bloom - there's nothing for the shader to draw on. So what ends up happening is you get the same neon signs that look like they're not lit at all, but fire/other light sources get excess bloom. Doesn't really work in replicating what the artists were going for.

Go here: github.com/praydog/REFramework/actions From the Actions List, click on the latest workflow job (description doesn't matter) - *as long as it has pd_upscaler as the category* (on the right). It must be from the pd_upscaler branch, the standard Re Framework branch won't work with the DLSS plugin. Once you've clicked on a pd_upscaler job, scroll down - the files with their respective RE name are there. You want the re3.zip if you're using the latest DX12 version, or RE3_TDB67 if you're still using the DX11 version (which I've never gotten to work with this plugin regardless, but ymmv).

Not sure what the problem could be, never had that happen across multiple updates of the mod, but if you want the absolute latest version go to the Actions tab of the dev's Github here: github.com/praydog/REFramework/actions Click on the latest action that has the tag pd-upscaler, that's the variant of the ReFramework library that has the upscaler. Scroll to the bottom of the page under "Artifacts" and select the file for whatever Resident Evil Game you want to use this with. You only need the dinput8.dll file from the zip, put in the same folder as the game's .exe. For the other parts you will need to follow that link I put in the description which describes where to get the other components. Here's what your game folder should look like with all components installed: imgur.com/4vVKdf8 In there, you have the dinput8.dll file from the github link above. The ffx_fsr and ngngx_dlss dll's are the FSR and DLSS dll's, and the pdperfplugin.dll is from the UpscalerBasePlugin (www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/502).

Hello, can you please tell me what, (UpscalerBasePlugin PDPerfPlugin.dll and nvngx_dlss.dll) download link for RE2 you use, there is no option or showing of (TemporalUpscaler) showing in my REFramework when i load the game? I am able to get RE4 dlss working fine, but when copy all 3 files in my RE2 steam folder, (TemporalUpscaler) option doesn't show up in REFramework? do i need a specific version of of these 3 files, if so what are theyfor the R2 version please can you help

Yes, you need to ensure the ReFramework mod is specifically labelled as from the pd_upscaler branch, the regular ReFramework mod will not show the upscaler. Go to the Actions tab of the ReFramework github repository here: github.com/praydog/REFramework/actions Then select any workflow description that has the pd_upscaler in the second column. That will give you links to the latest version of the upscaler mod.
