A correction here! Refuges and immigrants are two different things. There are no Greek refuges but greek immigrants like in the most countries. So if she talks about refuges for sure doesnt mean Greeks but people from middle east for example. So which of these 2?

Griego aqui (perdonan mi Espanol): Si supieran los lyricos de este cancion, entenderian porque es la cancion mas increible que va a pasar del Eurovision, de siempre. Es practicamente un poema que en el mismo tiempo es alegorico y literal tambien y habla de dolor imenso y de historia Griega pero no de la antiquedad. Habla del genocidio que los Turcos hicieron a los Griegos que perdonaban su patria, en el Asia Menor (ie Turquia contemporaria. Alla fue Grecia tambien). Puede ser mas conectado al genocidio de los Griegos de Pontos (que es en el norte de Turquia de hoy y un de estos genocidios), pero tambien es una cancion que tiene que hacer practicamente con cada quien que perdona su patria, casa familia etc. La historia griega es llena de dolor y este es un de los mas tragicos de hecho.

Theres a lot of things that makes this song unique and its pretty sad that only Greeks can understand, especially some words like MANA its not mother or mom hits different in greek language and the way she sings like miroloi and The definition of the word miroloi comes from 2 words fate and say from ancient greek mostly “singing” in funerals and expresses sadness and symbolise the separation from u family cause or death.. Also words like “tzivaeri mou” that no longer in use hits so hard to a greeks because words like this mostly spoken from our grandparents we probably lost in time and as a kid who grew up with my pontius grandmother reminds me of her.. Last thing to mention about the meaning of the song.. its all about the eradication of greeks back then in 1914- 1923 by turks during ottoman empire and symbolise the genocide against greeks of Pontus..
