My pleasure! The two were such a great help for me, and although the video of them was short, we had a great conversation and talked a bit. Thanks for watching the video. I know those two guys will be successful in the future as they both had a good head on their shoulders.

Hi bro, nice to find your chanel, I'm a cop here in Brazil, and your firsts impression of the police, unfortunelly are so bad, but we have to take in condideration that we have a high level of criminal activites, and the way that we behave in some situation, is reflect of this.
@mydogischoking2 ай бұрын
Thank you for visiting the channel. I appreciate your comment, but I do not have kind words in response to you, but I will give you encouragement. Yes, Brazil has a high level of criminal activities, but less than the countries to your north and west. Using the excuse of excessive crime to punish the innocent along with the criminal is a true sign of cowardice. There is never and excuse for punishing the innocent. NEVER. Fear is the motivation of the actions I have seen and witnessed. And the strong-handed police are showing they are cowards (and motivated by fear) when they prey on the innocent in the same way they treat the criminal. Rather than exposing the mayor or the governor for the blatant corruption and being strong in their convictions, they will seek out the petty drug dealer or small business owner that might be out of compliance. Demanding "protection" money is safe and they know they make a little profit from it but exposing their chief or police or mayor is not safe - so they say nothing. The police pretend to be respected and care less if they are hard-handed to the citizens. Meanwhile they turn a blind eye to the contractor who is in cooperation with the mayor to build a park at twice the price and sharing the profits. Do not use the excuse of "high level of criminal activities" as an excuse for the way the innocent are treated. Be a courageous man and stand up for them and their rights not to be stolen from by their leaders. It's not safe. It's not popular. It's very dangerous. But the alternative is to continue to be driven by fear and cowardice. I hope you find the courage in yourself and inspire others in your same position to do the same. Once corruption is removed from the top, the "high level of criminal activities" will no longer be present. You can do this. Justice requires only one man with courage in the beginning.

Man the editing on this was superb. The areas looked really nice. When you say work do you mean editing or work? As for the cops, in a lot of places they're above the law so there's nothing you can do really. Speaking up would just lead to a beating or worse with no consequences for the cops. They shake you up for a few coins and then let you go.
@mydogischoking2 ай бұрын
Thank you! I appreciate you noticing my editing as that is where the bulk of my time on videos is spent. Work is both making videos and normal IT stuff day to day. Not happy about the police, but being a victim only allows this behavior to continue on. I am a guest here so I have no place, but I hope the people can get fair justice if they decide to do something. One can only hope for a peaceful world where everyone is treated equally under the law. Thanks for the comment.

LOl....I stopped counting sunglasses! Really surprised that you haven't hit more rain. But, then you may just haven't shown what you have experienced. You said the missionaries had been ' stuck' there for several months, I hope it's not because of non-support from their organization. I can imagine that their adventure has been a memorable one, as well as yours! Seemed like nice boys. Can't say that I am surprised about any level of corruption in Brazil. I spend a lot of time(retired folks can do this) watching the geopolitical machinations going on worldwide. I remember, well, the scandels with former presidents on the 'take' from major compainies dealing with bribes, etc. Everything from the major energy producer to agriculture and construction. Corruption is from the top-down, so to see it on a local level isn't surprising. It has been such a problem that it's being 'observed' by a United Nations arm. It appears that your roads are not as good as they have been in the last two videos. I'm wondering about the upcoming conditions since you are doing this by 'the seat of your pants,' so to speak!! As a question of interest, have you already traveled through part of the Amazon forest? Upcoming? Have you seen much of the agricultural areas? I know that they must have vast areas set aside for "ag" because of their exports of soybeans and corn to China. Well, I assume that's part of the reason for so much of the Amazon being 'cleared'. Have you seen this yet? As usual, I enjoy every minute of your videos, hence, all the questions. And as always, be safe, and Blue Skies!

I have been extremely fortunate not to hit as much rain as I have. My window is slowly closing though as I'm north now and the rainy season starts very soon, although this year has been an incredibly dry year for Brazil (thus all the fires). I think the missionaries are being taken care of by their organization, I said "stuck" because we jokingly were talking about how long they had been there. But both said they had support from their mission organization there in the city. I'm not sure how long their visit lasts but I believe it is a year(?) - I am not LDS so I don't really know how long their missions last. Brazil has a lack of courage in their ranks and this is partially due to a "machismo" attitude. Being macho is always a sign of a weak-minded man, and South America has many "machismo" men. This cultural ideology lends itself to the degradation of women, alcoholism, and a lack of purpose outside of their immediate circle. When one focuses on themselves (i.e. "machismo") they rarely tend to do what is right for others. Thus, corruption and other society crippling actions arise. I seek strong-minded men and intellectuals, which is the opposite of the average man here. This then becomes mirrored in their women and girls - and manifests itself in vanity. Selfie, selfie, selfie, look how pretty I am. This is their focus, and their goals are not to become a strong woman, but to see how many people can drool and worship their beauty as much as they do themselves. Much like the "machismo" man, they compare themselves to others constantly rather than making the best of themselves. The physically weak men and the plain girls flock to alcohol and drown their minds in loud music 24 hours a day, so they can become numb to the reality of the world around them. I'll get off my soapbox now, but this breaks my heart. Morality is gone here and is only found in little pockets of light. Though I disagree with their theology, the two boys were a ray of sunshine as were many of the friends I have met along the way. I am just now at the edge of the Amazon River. The forest lies to my west and their are no roads past the center. To my north was my original plan, but that is no longer viable. I'll explain this in the next episode. Things are about to change drastically for this journey... keep watching!

Glad you caught that. That is not the first one I have put in the videos since I have been in Brazil. It seems the larger cities all have one. Kind of strange, but it gives me a little glimpse of home. Thanks for the comment.

Yeah unfortunately every country has some of it, but I'm really surprised how blatant it is here and how complacent the public is about it. Shameful. Thanks for the comment.

I am not sure. I have seen it in the north, the middle and the south. I just hope something is eventually done about it. One cannot have justice if the institution is not just. Thanks for the comment.
